Hello all again! I'm not sure if reading the posts are helping me or scaring me more. I'm really getting more apprehensive as each day after surgery date set passes. Anyone out there have Dr. Lynch? I'm having the lap band done and i don't see many posting on that procedure. I think I'm going to go  before this has even really begun. Tammy

Hi tammy, Im not having the lap band, but when I first was lurking around, I would read a good story and get all excited and inspired, then I would read where some was having problems and I would get all worried. I felt like I was on the emotional rollercoaster and I bet we both will feel this way for a while. We just have to keep tell ourselves we have made a decision for the best in the long term. Keep positive! Kim

Hi Tammy, most on this board have had or are having the gastric bypass. There is a board for lapbanders, and they can probably help you out more regarding questions and concerns that you might have. Best of luck to you, you're in my prayers, Kathy

We do have some Lap Banders on here. I wonder where they are...I don't know that any of our bandsters have had any problems. I had Dr. Spaw who is in the same clinic as Dr. Lynch. I have met Dr. Lynch and he is very nice. The only patients of his I've met have been bypass patients and they all love him. It's normal to be nervous. This is a life changing surgery. I think everyone on this board will tell you that they would have their surgery again in a heartbeat. Even with the occasional rough spot, the end result is worth it. We all went through the second guessing and the nerves. Just breath...you'll be fine!

Hi Tammy, I just had laproscopic gastric bypass on Tuesday by Dr Lynch. He is very kind and will answer any questions you may have. I have had a relatively easy go of it, compared to some others, but you have to remember that everyone is different and their bodies respond differently. Good luck and try not to drive yourself . Take care, Elena

I've had gastric bypass. But here is the link to the lap band board. I borrowed it from Linda Tidwell's post earlier. Good luck with this link. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/lapband/a,messageboard/board_id,5359/ Robin K.

Tammy, It's so normal to be nervous no matter what type of surgery you have. I understand your confusion. I was very confused at first because I wasn't sure if my decision was the right one or not. I had gastric bypass but my reasons were mainly because of the restrictions the surgery imposes, i.e dumping syndrome, the diet my surgeon has me on, etc.... Everyone has their own reasons for chooseing the surgery they are having. Good luck with your lapband! Hope you can find the lapbanders board. I know they will be lots of help! Janie
