You have GOT to be kidding!
Hi everyone...my computer is on the fritz so I have got to post while I can...some good and bad news. I have been exercising like a mad woman the last few weeks. I get in at least a mile to two miles of walking and a half hour of cardio and another fifteen minutes of weights. The least I have done is the walking and took a day off from the other. I have been getting really bad headaches and I promised my family I'd go to the doc. Well, the other day I was doing a really intense session of cardio and just fell out...I was awake but I couldn't get up. Long story short, while I am at rest, my blood pressure is normal but the minute I start exercising, it shoots sky high. I told the doc that he better figure something out since there is no way in you know where that I am stopping now. So he has me on a low dose bp med I have to take before exercising...which means that instead of being able to get up at a moments notice and do whatever I want, I have to schedule my exercise. I will...I'll do it 'cuz I am not stopping. I also have to have a CT scan to rule out any other issues just to be on the safe side.
Good news, while I was in the office, he informed me that the last time I was at this weight, 194, I was 13 years old. Wow!
Well, if that just don't take the cake...and the ice cream too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You're doing everything right to get healthy and THAT is causing high blood pressure?! What is up with that???
Girl...your body is really fighting you over this weight thing. I know you won't give up though. You have come so far and I am so proud of you.
I'll bet your doctor was blown away. It's so neat that he searched your chart to see when you were at this weight before.
Let us know how your tests turn out.
I have to watch the cardio when my Intracranial Hypertention is acting up but I haven't had a problem lately. I get debilitating headaches when my pressure is up and anything that raises my heart rate just makes it worse.
Congrads on the weight. I am sorry to hear about the blood pressure problem. Mine is the opposite. When I walk mine drops too low and I pass out. I have been restricted to the house. My heart Dr. put me on some new medication to raise my blood pressure when on my feet. I still haven't made it past 20 yards or I'm out in a dead faint. I hope yours gets better. That things start looking up for you. Keep up the great work. Love ya, Kathy
I have been wondering where you have been lately, I guess if your computer had to go on the fritz, it is a good thing it was after your finals!!!
I really hate to hear about your blood pressure, maybe this will just be a temporary thing and not long-term. I will keep you in my prayers, let us know what the CT results say when you get them.
At least something WOW came out of your appointment about your weight!!! That is wonderful and had to make you want to
Shelia
