Hey ANN, Sorry you are feeling bad. Just a reminder to make sure you are also taking your vitamins and drinking water, water and yes more water. Could be you are semi dehydrated and this could cause a lack of energy. The B12 should help with energy. I started taking a iron supplement early out because of the same symptoms you are having and it seemed to help. Hope things get better. Just do a little at a time and build. Try maybe a 5 min walk and then as you feel better increase the walk time. Take care !! {{Huggs}}

Hi Annrenee. No Juice sweetie. You can not drink juice. If you do, you have to dilute it with half juice and half water like they should have done when you was in the hospital. If nothing else, stop drinking the juice in 100% form. Just sip all day long on water or sugar free koolaid or crystal light. Also, I can not believe your Doc told you that because I was not able to get up and walk for 30 minutes a day at one time (as exercise anyway) that soon after surgery. Yes, you should try to get up and get your own drinks and maybe try to go check your mail and make an effort to get around more but 30 minutes of walking at a time that soon is not for everyone. Do not push yourself from your personal limits right now. Get plenty of rest and fluids. You have just been through a lot. Misty

Like everyone has said...drink water, water, water! If you are going to have juice you must dilute it half & half with water. Also, 30 minutes at one time is too much. You may be able to handle 5 minutes several times a day to total 30 minutes for the day. I started out walking out to my mailbox. Every few days I would extend my walk to a neighbor's mailbox until eventually I was walking to the end of my street and back. Remember, however far you walk from your house, you have to walk the same distance back. Don't pu**** too far. Any walking is better than none. If you need to walk the length of you driveway several times a day then do that. Just make sure you are up and moving. Feel better sweetie. These first few weeks are the toughest.

water, water, water!! Stay away from any kind of fruit juice... WAYYYY too much sugar. I'm surprised you didn't have a dumping episode from it. But really...try to get your water in any form (decaf tea, sugar free koolaide, crystal light) I know a lot of people who don't like that after taste.. but you'll learn to like it...hopefully. Otherwise, plain ole water will do the trick

Hello, Annrenee... yes it will be hard for a few weeks to get in all the liquid... keep doing the water... you can also ask him if you can do decaf drinks... do you like crystal lite? There are so many different flavors, there is also SF koolaid. I know you don't like the taste of sugar free... unfortunately, that is the rest of your life... sugar free... you will have to get used to it ... it does get better after awhile. Kind of like when a person starts drinking diet drinks, compared to regular, and there is an aftertaste... but if you can get over that initial stage, you will forget that you are drinking sugar free and, actually like it.... True, don't drink juice! Juice is always a no no... especially this early in the process... honestly, things will not taste right to you anyway. If you were to drink one of your favorite old drinks, it would not taste the same... Good luck, keep us informed.. hope you are able to get adjusted to this new life... sometimes, you are right... it sucks... but then when you weigh in and you've lost weight, then you will be so happy!

Hi Annerenee, I understand just what you are going thru. Dr. Colquitt didn't push the 30 minute walking on me as I had been wheelchair bound for almost 3 years. I was also having to be in and out of the hospital over a 5 month time frame as the chemo pills were eating up my potassium causing me to throw up alot. As for the apple juice, I was given it to drink on the third day after surgery. Make sure it says NO SUGAR ADDED, I even would buy Gerber apple juice, in the little bottles. Limit that to once a day. If you are having problems with drinking water, I found I couldn't stand tap water anymore. Deer Park was the only one I can drink. Even now at almost 16 months out Deer Park is the only water that doesn't make me sick. Sometimes I add just a little bit of Splenda so I can get it down. Like we would do with infants, when they would strangle of water we added a touch of sugar to help them swallow it. You'll do fine, one day at a time. Kathy When in doubt call Angie the nutrionist.
