Hi Elena. How exciting! Your surgery will be here before you know it. Oh - the dreaded liquid diet. It seems as if you have to do it for a longer period. I went through Vanderbilt and ours was 8 days. The headache will eventually go away. Just keep thinking why you are doing this and that it will be worth it in the end. Keep drinking and drinking. Oh yeah, you are not actually giving up and food. Eventually, you will be able to eat almost anything agian (with the exception of sugar). Yep, shrimp will be a good friend to you during the beginning stages of eating. If you haven't yet, you can order the sample pack of protein powders from bariatriceating.com. That way you can try different brands and flavors (after surgery) to see which ones you will like and then can order just those types. A lot of people (like Sheila) rave about the Whey protein bullets too. Just think, you are about to become a loser! We will move over and make room for you on the bench! Keep us updated on how you are doing. Misty

Hi Elena, I'm right there with you. My date is May 7th and I'm on the liquid diet as well. I am so weak and I have an awful headache, but I know my outcome is worth it and so is yours! I Hope to see everyone soon and what does everyont think about ISOPURE protien powder?

hi Tywanna, Good luck on your surgery. Hope your headache is getting better, mine has a little bit. The nutritionist I met with mentioned isopure and she said it was a good product. To get the unflavored, so it could be put into anything. Where are you having your surgery? I'll be at Baptist. If you are too, hope to see you at the Tuesday meeting. Otherwise, I'll see you at a luncheon. ~~Elena

Elena, I just wanted to let you know that there is a product out there called Any Whey that is truly unflavored and mixes very well. In my personal opinion, it is better than the Isopure, but I was also on the Isopure for about 7 weeks and I know I will never drink the bottled Isopure again for the rest of my life if God willing!!!
