I counted last night and I have 68 staples from just past the hipbone to the other side of the hipbone. Wow, I dread having those removed. I think I will be taking some pain medication on Thursday just to be safe. I am no longer draining in the tubes. He said they would be in there for several weeks. The only thing is the right one (both are in my pubic area) is leaking blood out side the tube. So a sanitary pad works great hortizonal to make sure it doesn't get on my clothes. Plus they cover my staples whereas the other stuff was irratating me. What's really bad is the itching. OH MY GOSH, do they ever itch. Thank you all for your prayers, calls, and thoughts while I went thur this ordeal. I so appreciated them. Love Kathy

If it will set your mind at ease, the staple removal doesn't hurt. Or, at least, it shouldn't!

Back in 1986 I had 12 staples in the bikini area from a bladder repair. Elevan came out great, the 12th one put me in a dead faint. The skin had closed over it. Now to have 68 come out and I can already see several where the skin has already started to grow over them. ugh. Love ya, Kathy

Kathy, I hated to hear about all the trouble that you had at the VA and I am very glad that you are doing well now, except for the normal recovery stuff. I just wanted to let you know that I am continuing to keep you in my prayers, because you are going to continue to need them as you report and recover from the horrible incident at the VA. Shelia

Thank you sheila, that really means so much to me. I can't wait to get rid of the tubes and staples. They are starting to itch like crazy. Kathy
