Hi I had Lapband surgery4-05-07. Everything seemed to have gone well with my surgery I did have a hiatel hernia the Dr. repaired. One week after my surgery I started throwing up, they started me on Phenegran, then Zofran. I'm still having great difficulty eating anything. I went back to my Dr. office and they removed any air or anything that might have been in my band. When I eat or drink it feels like I'm choking. I'm getting very worried I made a bad descision .Thanks Robin

Robin, I had RYN and nausea for a good 7 to 8 weeks after surgery, it was not a great time and I was also on Zofran. It will pass, it did with me. I never regreted having the surgery, because I was told that some people just have a harder time than others with the nausea, it just sounds like you are one of the unfortunate ones. Try liquids for a while and give your stomach a rest, but continue to get your protein in through liquids. Hope you get better soon, Shelia

You are dealing with the double whammy of lapband & Hiatal hernia repair. When my mom had HH repair done recently, she had trouble taking in fluids & food too. Try using a 1 oz cup to control your sipping and a baby spoon to control the size of your bites of food. It may just be that you are taking too big of a bite or sip for your still healing tummy and you just don't realize it. I remember getting that choking feeling for several weeks post-op. It would happen when I tried to take a swallow like I was used to taking. If I could just remember to take baby sips, everything was fine. Keep us posted of how you are doing. Susan
