Hey everybody! I just wanted to know what your favorite food is now that you are post op. Oh and uh, could you share the recipe (if it's homemade) with me? I would love to go ahead and prepare myself for after the surgery by cooking some of them now. TIA Melissa

What tastes the best to me at this time, is Shrimp ****tail. I like it really cold and use the Walden Farms Sugar Free ****tail sauce that I get from the 'It's all Sugar Free Store" close to my house. They have a lot of great stuff and Connie, the owner, is wonderful to work with.

Sheila, Unfortunately that diet screwed up my sugar levels too much. They were either too high or too low every time I checked it. I work at a hospital and I asked one of the dieticians about it and she said it could not be the diet it maybe something else making my sugar have so many spikes and drops but she recommended for me not to use the diet for a few days and see if my sugar got under control and maybe try it again and see. But still I thank you for sharing that with me and who knows I may be ale to go back to it later if my sugar allows. I hope you are feeling better? ... been thinking boutcha.... Melissa

That is strange, my sugar was fairly good on the diet. I sure hope nothing else is going on, keep me posted!!!

Hey Melissa, I absolutely love every recipe I have tried from Susan Maria. Go to www.bariatriceating.com and click on recipes...they are in her book also but she has a new paperback version coming out this summer so I'd wait on that one if I was you...most of the recipes are online anyway.

Kym, in your avatar you look like an actress but I can't think of her name. For that matter I can't even think of the show and I used to watch it all the time. It's the show where the father was a vet and had his practice at his house. He had 2 daughters and a son. One daughter was a doctor named Sidney and the other daughter's name was Joni (I think) and she had a bakery for dogs called the "Barkery". I can't think of the son's name. They all lived with the their father. Their mother died and would visit Sid in a dream every morning. Anyway, I think you look a lot like Joni in your pic. I always thought she was really cute.

The show was Providence. Yes I have to agree Kym does remind me of Joni as well. My fav food after surgery has to be Salmon I buy the frozen bags at ALDI they come individually sealed and are each 4 oz each. I place one on Foil put a little Olive oil and sprinkle with lemon pepper and bake until done. Very yummy. Also I was quite a wys out but the first time I had salad post op I thought I had died and gone to heaven. MY first salad was at O' Charleys and I was about 7 or 8 months out but it tasted soooo good!!!

Providence! I know exactly what show you are talking about. Joni was pregnant in a lot of the show. Sidney was played by Melina Kanakaredes, love her hair!!! and the dad was played by Mike Farrell who also played BJ Honeycutt on MASH. I love him! The mom was played by the lady who was on China Beach and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead...I think her name was Conchita something...but I don't know who played Joni...can't think of her name. Thanks though...take it as a compliment!

Hi Melissa. I got a receipe from Melinda. She could probably give the receipe better than me but it is for Pizza. She made it at her protein party and it was so good that I plan on going to get the stuff to make it this weekend. But basically you just get the low carb tortillas and you broil them for a few minutes on each side until they are crispy. You put on some spagetti sauce (preferablly low sugar or low fat) and then put on your toppings - turky pepporoni, onions, low fat cheese, mushrooms (whatever but try to stay healthy) and then put it back in the oven to melt the cheese and that is it - individual sized healthy pizzas. Ummmm. Thanks Melinda! Misty
