Hi Everybody, I had my pre-op testing and meet with the Nutrition Lady today. Everything went real smooth except for driving my old truck in Nashville traffic. I had to pedal real fast to keep up. I was just wondering what the best protein drink to get for the week following surgery. I appreciate all the support for my upcoming life changing surgery. Thanks, Steve

Hi Steve. Good news that your pre-op tests went good. I would suggest ordering the protein sample back from bariatrieating.com. They give you one sample of several flavors and brands (I think like 15 different ones). You can try them after surgery to see which ones you like best and then can order them. Definantley do not try the protein before surgery because it will not taste the same after surgery and you would have stocked up on something you do not like. That is my biggest suggestion for pre-op pateints. Do not stock up on protein you "think" you like because ti tasted good before surgery. Your taste buds change real fast afterwards. Misty

I would recommend the New Whey bullets. You can purchase them locally at The Vitamin Shoppe or online at The Vitamin Shoppe store or bariatriceating.com. They pack a lot of protein into just a few sips and then you can drink regular water or sugar free crystal lite, kool-aid, etc. for your fluid. Some people like Isopure. Frankly, it makes me hurl! For an unflavored protein powder to add to broth, soup, etc., I recommend Any Whey. You can purchase this at any GNC. It dissolves easily in warm (not hot) liquids and is truly flavorless. They may give you Unjury in the hospital, Any Whey is better tasting. Or should I say, it has less of a taste than unflavored Unjury.

Steve, The 42gram New Whey bullets are what I use and they are great, just drink only half at a time, because you can only absorb 30 grams at a time. They are just 3.1 oz and easy to do, I wish I had discovered them and had not had to endure weeks of Isopure. Shelia
