I am in a dress!

I finally updated my profile to the new format so I was able to put on my new avatar and add a couple of recent pictures. I recently attended a black tie wedding and I worse a dress! OMG. I have not worn a dress since I was maybe 5. I know I may have worn a skirt since then (not even a skirt much) but I do not think I have ever worn a dress. Of course it took me about 2 weeks to find one that I could be ok with but after all was said and done, I wore a dress. Big WOW moment for me! Misty

And may I say...You look mahvelous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Isn't it nice to be able to wear feminine clothes and just know you look GOOD?! I hope you strutted your stuff.

Thanks Susan! You know I did. I struted so much you would have thought I was the one getting married! The wedding was with people who I have not seen since my surgery so it was really nice to get dressed up for once and then get compliments. Misty

You look GREEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT or however Tony the Tiger said it!!!! I bet you were probably the talk of the wedding next to the bride!!! Shelia I would love to see a before picture if you have one to add to your profile, I do not believe that I have ever seen one.

Thanks Sheila! I know, I need to add a before picture. I might try to do that tonight or tommorrow. My problem is I did not take many before pictures. I never liked taking pictures when I was bigger so I didn't take any. I have my wedding pictures but that was 5 years ago and I was not at my biggest. I probably gained about 50 pounds from the time of my wedding to the time I actually had surgery. But I think I have a picture from a year or two ago that I can add. I have to look. Ugggghhh - I hate my old pictures. I weighed 308 before surgery and was in a size 26 and had a BMI of 50.1 - not a time I want to remember! Misty

Oh but you should, because you know that you will never return to that ever again. I have my before picture posted at my desk at work with the words written under it, "Never Again". This reminds me just how far I have come and what I will never be again. You have done wonderful and should be very proud!!

Congrats Misty. You look so nice in a dress you should wear one more often. Congrats on breaking your plateu!!

Thanks Juanita! I am not sure about wearing a dress more often. It felt really weird to wear that one! Too breezy. And I felt like I still did not belong in a dress but that was just my mind playing those "your still to big" tricks on me. Thanks agian! Misty

Trust me sweetie, you are NOT too big to wear a dress! You are slim! I don't know how long it takes for us to get over the feeling that we are still big. I hope it happens soon.
