Went to the Doctor today!!
Well last night, I continued to get worse, as you know I could not hold any food down for the past two days, but last night my "cold" progressed into my chest. I got up and called my PCP first thing and my appointment was at 9:10 this morning. I called Dr. Spaw on the way to the appointment and he was glad I was going to my PCP, because he said that he defiantly wanted me to be seen to get this cleared up. He felt that the mucus was filling up my pouch and causing the problems I am having with holding down food. He advised me to continue on liquids and liquid protein until I get it cleared up and to stay hydrated.
I went to my PCP and the verdict is that I am in the beginning stages of pneumonia, yes, pneumonia, well that explains why I have felt so bad. He gave me some medication to take and penicillin shot to speed up the recovery and to get a jump start on the healing process in hopes that it will keep it from going into full blown pneumonia. I have been given strict orders to drink plenty of fluids today and get plenty of rest, and then tomorrow hopefully I will be able to return to work, depending on how I feel. I have to go back to work considering I just returned to work from surgery on the 2nd. Keep me in your prayers that this shot works and I have a speedy recovery, because I do not need to be sick or off from work anymore!!!
Cough, Cough, Sneeze, Sneeze, Sniff, Sniff!!!
Shelia

Oh no. Poor Sheila. Pneumonia is no fun at all. I was in the ICU for 5 days this past Dec. for double pneumonia. I was diagnosed with bronchitis and didn't stay home from work like I was suppose to is why I got so sick. So please don't worry about work and everything else. Put your health first. I am hoping that shot will speed things along. It usually does for most people. Just stay warm and drink plenty. Also do breathing exercises. Take as deep of breath as you can and hold it then let go. It might hurt but it will help move that crud right out of ya. Do it once an hour maybe 2-3 times. I promise it will help. They made me do it in the hospital except when I breathed out it measured how strong my breath was. The nurse explained that the more air I can get in the lungs the more it will make the pneumonia move. So sip, sip, sip, cough, cough, cough, breathe, breathe, breathe.
