I've been informed that my paperwork has been submitted to the insurance company today for approval. I'm sooooo......nervous! Can anyone that has Aetna Insurance tell me how long it took to get approved? Dawn told me it would take up to two weeks, but I'm wondering if it may take longer or if it'll be faster. I also wish to know what happens after the approval? How long to get scheduled for the surgery? I want this to happen in May. My Birthday is June 25th and I want to be at least 20+ pounds down. Should I be stocking up on the protein drinks? I'm getting really excited now. Any information will be apreciated. Thanks, Tonya P.S I'm getting good at this posting.

Hey Tonya! I am not sure about Aetna but it only took a week for me to get approval after all my paper work was submitted and I have BCBS. I would check on it periodicly for status through your Insurance. After approval surgery date is usually soon after based on your Doctor schedule. Want to wish you all the best. I would wait until you get approval. Protein can be expensive. Best advice I can give is buy samples because after surgery your taste change and something you like or can tolerate now you may not tolerate after surgery. Good Luck!!

Thanks Jaunita! that was good advice to wait before I go buying a bunch of protein drinks nad then not like them. I hope it only takes a week for me to get approved. I'll call my insurance at the end of the week to see what's going on.

I don't know about the insurance thing. But I know from personal experience that your taste will change a LOT post op. So you may want to hold off on getting those drinks... Hope you hear something soon!!! I know the wait is real bad!!!! *hugs* Jacqui
