Hi everyone. Gosh I miss not being able to keep up with y'all. But my computer will be working when I get back to LaVergne either Thursday or Friday. Here's the WOW. I went to buy some new tennis shoes as mine were killing me. I went from a size 10 to a size 8. I decided to look for some shoes to wear for Church. I found just what I wanted in a size 8.5, 3" toeless high heel sandal. I went to Walmarts and in the Georges brand of clothes I found a size 4/6 white dotted swiss white blouse. Also in the same area I tried on a size 4 black skirt, it zipped right up, but wouldn't be able to tuck in the blouse. So I decided on a size 6, come Sunday my blouse wouldn't stay tucked in as the skirt is now 1" too big. But gosh to walk in high heels, and a skirt, which I wouldn't wear before as they made me look to fat, actually made me look and feel great. Plus I didn't fall on my face wearing the heels. It has been so long having to wear flats, to wear 3" heels was awesome. Now for the next WOW moment. I have this problem of remembering to take my morning meds. I haven't taken my morning chemo pill for over a month, my thyroid pill, my estrogen, plus a few more. My oncologist saw me today while I am in the Morristown area this week. Then she had them take some blood. My Blood levels are all in the normal range, a first since being diagnosed with leukemia. I still take one at bedtime. My thyroid blood work came back in the high normal range, I don't know about the estrogen, but I know I need to get back on that, could be why I keep feeling dizzy and queasy most of the time. Can't take my pre-natal multi vitamin as I am having my tummy tuck done on the 20th. Just knowing I don't have to take my thyroid pill any more, and my chemo pills have been lowered from 70 mg twice a day to just one a day. Plus I weighed in yesterday and today at 127#, a total of 170# gone for good. I see my gastric surgeon tomorrow and I look forward to his scales, that's what I set mine too. See you on Saturday. Love Kathy

I bet your little feetsies were happy to get some shoes that fit... yes my feet shrunk too... thank heavens! I like wearing 8s better than 9s or 9 1/2s depending on the width... Congrats on getting to cut back on meds... I was so glad to get off mine... but ended up needing only one. But I'll settle for that!! See you on Saturday

That is a WOW moment...I had one myself today. I tried on a pair of size 12 pants and they actually zipped up and don't look bad. Woohooh!!! Not bad coming from a size 24 in Nov 06. I stopped in at the hospital where I used to work and saw of the people I used to work with. They could not get over how I looked. My mom told me she had one of the ladies that she works with her daughter was job shadowing last week. She happened to see one of my newest pictures on my mom's computer and asked who that was. My mom told her and she said "She's really pretty, she could be a model". I have never met the little girl but love her to death!!! HAHA!!! I asked my mom if she had thick glasses because I think she was having some trouble seeing!!!! HAHA!!!!

Hi Becky, I still get those fantastic times where someone doesn't recognize me. Most are the nurses, lab techs that have taken care of me since 2003 when I broke my hip and pelvic and ended up in a power wheelchair. They can't believe that it's me. I am having a problem with my license. It's 4 years old, I had a lot of weight on me, no glasses, and long hair. Now I'm 170 lbs less, I wear glasses, and my hair is shorter. I can't wait to see their reactions when I go to change my license. Kathy

Thanks Mel, it's been a wow week over the last 3 days. I still have a lot of meds, but not having to take the thyroid anymore was one more hurdle to get over. I saw Dr. Colquitt today. My BMI is 22.5, weight officially is 127.5, he was impressed with my excellent blood work that was done yesterday. Life is good, and now I want to get dressed up and not just in jeans and a shirt. I want to show off the legs and tiny waist area. It has been soooooooooo long since I have felt this great. See you on Saturday. Love ya, Kathy PS: is Mike going to be at the protein party? I would like to meet him.

Hi Annrenee, welcome to our great board. How did your appointment go with Dr. Colquitt? I am having my tummy tuck done at the Nashville Veterans Hospital. I am a Veteran. The surgeon will have to get approval from the Administration office to do my thighs. It was great meeting you. Remember you are not alone while you are going thru this journey. The prayers will be going out for you and the support you get from this board is what kept me going. I loved this group and have met several. I am proud to call them my friends. We're saving you a seat on the losers bench. May God travel with you on this journey, and on your surgery day. Kathy
