Lasik this Friday!!! woo hoooo!!!!
I have this weird allergy to nickel and other metals. Because I have to wear glasses, the side of my head breaks out and also around the bridge of my nose. Unless I wear the total plastic buddy holly glasses, this is the case (been going on for YEARS). Because of the astigmatism, contacts do not work.
So Friday I will be getting Lasik. I am EXCITED! My brother had it 12 years ago (Back when it was still experimental) and he did Great!
When you guys see me Saturday, I will be glasses-less!!!
Congratulations! I understand about the nickel allergy. Have been plagued by it for years. It is amazing how nickel pops up in the strangest places.... metal snaps on jeans and shoe decor being two of the most uncomfortable. I wish you luck on your lasik procedure. My ex had it done about 5 years ago and has done beautifully. I sure hope it goes well for you.
Oh my goodness, are we even going to recognize you?
My son-in-law had it done a couple of years ago, just as he was starting in the fire academy. (the alternative for him would have been a prescription visor on his breathing mask) He has worn glasses since he was 3 months old. He also had astigmatism and his vision is perfect now! He doesn't even need any visual help when he hunts.
Can't wait to see the new you on Saturday!
Gosh, between Susan and the missing braces and you having the eyes corrected, will we recognize you two? I have astigmatism and a cateract. I hate wearing glasses, they keep getting knocked off by toddler grandsons. Plus they aren't helping my eyes from the bright lights or the sun. Can't wear the type of sunglasses that clip on the frames. Can't wait to see you on Saturday. You'll do fine with this surgery. Love kathy
My sister had the surgery done and has 20/20 vision now! She also had a slight astigmatism. I'd like to get it done, been thinking about if for years. I'm legally blind w/o glasses or contacts. Something like 20/475, or around there. Sucks!! Be nice to wake up and be able to see first thing.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll do fine! ~~Elena

My husband and I both had it done about 3 years ago. It's one of the best things we ever did. I am wimp when it comes to things like that but it was over with before you knew it. The most important thing I can stress to you is that they tell you to go home and sleep for awhile while the anesthetic wears off. Try to sleep as long as you can, as it starts wearing off your eyes will start itching and you will want to scratch at them. Just try to go back to sleep and stay down for as long as you can. Like I said it will all be over before you know it!! Good luck!!!
