No Excedrin????
I was told due to the Asprin content in Excedrin that it is not good for our pouch and you want to do everything that you can to protect your pouch. There are a lot of different medications that you will not be able to take after WLS for this exact reason, the best thing to do would be to get with your surgeon's office and they will be able to tell you what you can and can't have. However, most Tylonel products are pouch friendly and do tend to help.

P.S.
I thought that I would not be able to survive with out my Excedrin, but believe it or not, I have done just fine.
I suffered with migraines for years. Took medication to prevent them and was willing to worship at the feet of whoever discovered Imitrex. Then about 7 years ago I was diagnosed with Intracranial Hypertension. One of the main symptoms is headaches worse than any migraine ever thought of being. I always relied on Excedrin for my headaches too. Tylenol just never seemed to help. Now, not only do I rarely have a headache. But, when I do, Tylenol works just fine.
Hopefully, as your weight goes down the tension headaches will improve too.
Relax, they send you home with adequate pain medication. While in the hospital, you will have a pain pump and will be kept very comfortable. I didn't need anything for pain after I got home and I rarely used the pain button after the first day in the hospital.
Anything Tylenol is fine for us to use after surgery. Whether it's cold medication or headache/pain meds.
Hi Helen, anything that is aspirin based, can cause ulcers in the pouch, and they act like a blood thinner. No NSAIDS what so ever after surgery. I would also advise you to register with medic alert (1-800-ID-ALERT), they know about the gastric bypass, and will put on your information sheet to not ever have the N/G tube to be placed down your nose, it can rupture the pouch. They can only use a scope to go down your throat. May God be with you, kathy
