Shelia's WOW moment

Tonight was our monthly support group meeting at Baptist. I was sitting in one of the bariatric chairs - you know, the ones that are about 30-36 inches wide - Shelia was sitting in a regular chair right beside me. Well, several people came in after the meeting got started and at one point Shelia looked at me and I told her to move over into the chair with me. She said she didn't think we would both fit. I told her we would and come on over. A few minutes later when someone else came in she decided to try it. I wish y'all could have seen the look on her face! We turned that bariatric chair into a 2 butt chair!! She was so overcome that she brought tears to my eyes! We had just experienced yet another wow moment. Y'all are not going to believe our little Shelia when you see her on the 14th. She looks like a totally different person! Love ya girlie!!!!! We also got in trouble for giggling during the meeting but that's another story. BTW - I got home okay. The interstate was moving at about 30 mph and several cars & big trucks had pulled off to the side. I pretty much followed the tail lights of the rig in front of me since I couldn't see the lane markers. Hubby said the rain started right after he had hung up with me and I called you right after that. So, I drove into the storm right after it started. I got soaked walking from the garage into the house...with an umbrella!

I am so jealous...not of Sheila's wow moment, of course, that makes me happy...I'm jealous of how you guys get to get together and everything. I feel so isolated down here in Lawrenceburg, two hours away from everyone. I want to go shopping and go to a support group. We don't even have one down here! I keep reading posts about how people are going shopping together and such and I can't help it, I wish I lived closer! Okay, I know I am having a pity party moment but I really do feel isolated...no one understands what I am experiencing down here!

I am pre-op and not sure if I count but I live only about 20 minutes from Lawrenceburg. After I have surgery we might go shopping or something sometime. Just a thought. p.s. There is a support group that meets in Pulaski at the NHC nursing home community room. I can keep check on the local paper to see when the next one is if you want. Melissa
