My surgeon filled out forms for my FMLA. So if I am ever late, or must leave early, or out the entire day, it will not be counted against me on my attendance. And, they cannot count it against you when trying for another inhouse job either. Now if I have vacation or ETO time, I will get paid., If not, then I will not get paid.,... but it will not be considered an occurrence. Its good for 3 months. Then you have to get it renewed. Dr. Houston will have to fill out my papers again on Apr 19th when I go for my six month appt. Yes its true, most of us know how you are feeling. We fought like hades to get our insurance to cover our surgeries. For some it worked, but for others it did not. Which means that they are self pays out there... heck some would beg, borrow, and probably steal to get the surgery. (not steal I hope but you kmow what I mean!). Its so hard when you feel like nothing is within your grasp, and that your future rests in the hands of men and women at drs offices, insurance companies (who do not want to let go of a single dollar), and our employers. Yes it is hard! But do not give up. And as I always say... when you feel like giving up, just visit the before/after photo section on Obesity Help and renew your drive. Renew your spirit of determination that helped get you on this journey in the first place. Get that bold tenacity to continue regardless of the cost... get it deep in your soul, your gut, your heart, the core of your being and do not let go or allow anyone to steal it away. You will overcome.
