I'm freezing all of the time now after losing weight!

When I was bigger, I was hot and sweaty all of the time. I could not stand the heat. My favorite season was winter. People would tell me that it was hotter than normal because I was bigger. I didn't believe that. I thought it was just me and that I was prone to be hot. Well, now I am starting to think that they were RIGHT! Now that I have lost weight, I am freezing all of the time. I do not know if it is just me or not. Are you cold all of the time? Maybe it is because I am not eating a lot of calories. I have heard that can make you cold. But I guess I am going to have to live with the fact that even when it is 80 outside, I am going to feel 30 indoors. It is hard at work to touch the thermostat because someone changes it back! hehehe. But, I just thought I would throw it out there to see if I am weird or not that I am cold all of the time as opposed to being hot all of the time when I was big! I guess I might have to admit that people were right to say that a bigger person is hotter than a smaller person. I always thought that someone was just making that up to give use bigger people another "symptom". Siggghh Misty

This is a "side effect" of our surgery. I have asked on the WLS Graduates forum if it gets any better the farther out from surgery you get. Most of the responses were "No". Our clinic nurse is 6 years out and she still freezes. I am now looking for sweaters & long sleeves in Spring and Summer colors. Hubby will remind me if I start to leave the house without some kind of sleeve. I'm lucky at work. My boss likes it the same temperature as me and we control our own office temp. Of course, he is 62 years old! But, he's a YOUNG 62!

Yes, I freeze all the time too....especially now that air conditioners have been turned on lol It is easier just for me to put warmer clothes on than to argue with my husband and co-workers (they're males too) over the thermostat LOL

Prior to surgery I used an electric blanket in the middle of summer... we did use air though... I just stayed cold. Now I stay cold all the tme, its much worse. I dont think weight always has anything to do with cold/'hot... some skinny people are hot all the tme... I sometimes wear long sleeve &jacket or sweater, and people at work say aren't you hot? takie that coat off. I say NO I'm not hot. I'm freezing, thats why I have this on! I guess they juust thought I was stupid when it came to fashion.?? who knows. I guess I could say "You mind your OWN 98.6 degrees"

I like that, Melinda..."you mind your own 98.6 degrees" I guess that kind of falls in line with mothers telling their child to put on a sweater because (the mother) is cold!
