WLS version of a junk food weekend
I had a candy bar, bag of chips, ice cream, pizza, carbonated fruit juice
OK OK not really... but I feel like I did! Here was my gastric bypass friendly version of a junk food weekend:
Candy bar - power crunch peanut butter chocolate fudge
Chips - Rev it Up Ranch Soy Chips
Ice cream - made from the homemade ice cream maker out of Chocolate Miceller Milk
Pizza - low carb tortilla (first one I've had since surgery), 2 tbsp spag sauce, small sliced of green & red peppers, onions, bl olives, turkey pepperoni
Carbonated fruit juice - Fuze. Its not carbonated but sure makes you think you are drinking something carbonated, and it reminds me of fruit juice. (there are several kinds so make sure you get the one that you can have which are: Diet White Tea, Strawberry Melon, Cranberry Raspberry, Tangerine Grapefruit
DO NOT try banana colada. I took a sip, thought "gee this is good..." looked at the bottle and didn't know it had 23 sugars!! so not all fuze driinks are good for us.
I loved the pizza. It was wonderful. I broiled the tortilla on both sides so that it was crunchy... oh yes!!! I loved the flavor. Its been a long time since I enjoyed pizza!!! Also keep in mind, this was not consumed in one day... but over the course of 3 days so it won't shock my system!
I think Kroger has them... but if I remember correctly, got these at walmart. Not in the cold section... down the taco aisle... look carefully. Mine says "Mission Carb Balance Whole Wheat fajita size" Only 4 net carbs, 3 g protein.; There are 10 in a pack and they are not the large large ones. They are probably 7x7.
I think it kind of made me not feel so great a few hours later... I could not hardly eat my supper.
Here are the nutr. facts
calories 80
carbs 12 - 8 dietary fibers = 4 net carbs
Sugars - 0
Protein - 3
Now I dont normally do this. It was my first try. I would not do this on a consistent basis cause it kind of makes me feel a little guilty still... something I need to get out of, but I am still afraid I am doing something wrong...
Kym when you come over, and haven't gotten any yet, we can take a trip to the grocery. They were less than $3, maybe $2.
The turkey pepperoni tastes great! The dogs loved them too...
Speaking of dogs, they are both laying side by side me right now... stretched out asleep... and Foofoo is on her back with her paws straight up in the air! They are konked out!
Hi Melinda. How did you get your Tortilla Crispy? I don't like bread so it would have to be really really crispy for me to like it and didn't know how you did it. I would like to try this since I haven't had pizza in over 9 months and have been wanting a taste for it. I also don't eat pork so did you find the turkey pepporoni easily? Then you just put a little spaggheti sauce on it, your toppngs and some cheese and put it in the oven?
Look, you mention pizza and we all go crazy! You should have known you weren't going to get off that easy!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...all of that sounds good!
I have an ice cream maker but have not tried making ice cream out of Mice milk. You'll have to post the directions/recipe. I'm kind of afraid to try any of my recipes with Nature's Crystals because ice cream was one of my trigger foods pre-op. I've had 1 tablespoon of it since surgery and it didn't taste as good as I remember. I'd like to keep it that way.

I broiled the shell... got it crispy looks burnt though.. but I didnt keep the greatest eye on it... then turn it over... its still soft on the other side, so broil it there til it looks like you want it...
then put your spaghetti sauce, toppings... You will want to get a low sugar spag sauce. I have Barilla . Hunts has a sugar free but I cant find it anymore.
I found the turkey pepperoni on the right lower portion of the pepperoni section... could barely see it. I think it was 2.87 kinda high but when you want it... whatcha going to do? Pull out the wallet! I did broil my pizza also til it was melted the way I wanted i****ch it though or you may get yor cheese burnt.
