Your thoughts please?

I am researching and came across info re VSG. not VBS... I am looking into finding any surgeons in the NAshville area currently doing this procedure. Dr. Curry mentions it in his post and likes it. It seems like a good fit for me vs lap band. Any posters from TN that have had any other WLS besides RNY??

Hi Jill. I am not fimiliar with that type of surgery since I had the RNY. I went through Vanderbilt. When I look online, that is not listed as one of the surgeries they do. However, you can probably shoot them an email just to ask. Have you checked out Centennial. They seem to do many forms of the Weight loss surgeries. I hope you find someone. My one suggestion is to check your insurance restrictions. Some weight loss surgeries are not covered - for example, Cigna covers the RNY and Lap-band but it shows they restrict on several other types including the mini-bypass and even the DS (I believe). So, make sure before you go that route that you are covered. Misty

Hi Jill... click on forums then scroll down to the type of surgery you are interested in ... and talk to others who have had it .. I had the lap- band at Centennial, my surgeon is Dr Dyer and I am very pleased with my surgeon and choice! have to do your homewwork! Good luck
