Question
I am not a lap band patient I am a RNY patient, however I know that I would not do anything to mess with any portion of this surgery. After all, what is waiting one more day, I would hate to think that if you did something and it could mess it up and put you back weeks of recovery, therefore my suggestion would be to wait the one more day. This may not be what you want to hear, but it is better to be safe than sorry. I have been on pureed foods for seven weeks and I have until next Monday until I go on soft foods, therefore I know what it is like to count down, but I do not want to take a chance of messing up any part of this surgery.
Good Luck,
Shelia
Hi Mark. I guess I am going to go agianst everyone else! Thats me!
I would say that you and your body will tell you when you are ready to move phases. The general advise that the surgeons give are given to everyone as an idea but some people have to wait longer and some people can do it a few days early. If you personally feel like you can move forward, than do it. I would start out slow and chew really well but I would not see any problem with one day early if you feel like you can. I am also RNY but I tried scrambled eggs earlier than recommended on my diet. It is really up to you and your body. If you can not tolerate it, your body will let you know real fast.
