New in Nashville

Hello all! My name is Melissa and I am waiting on approval of Gastric and so excited. Just wanted to meet some others that are going through or have been through it. I will be having my surgery at Baptist in Nashville. Please feel free to say hello!

Hi, Melissa. Welcome to the board... you are more than welcome to join us each 2nd Saturday of the month... we always meet at Cool Springs and there will be plenty of notification given... even directions. Susan always maps out the directions for us... Hope you are approved today! Let us know what happens... we will be anticipating a good report...

Oh... I remembered what I was gonna say... I look at the before and afters every morning and sometimes at night too... ha ha ha and you are so right it helps so much!!!

Weren't you at the support group meeting at Baptist on March 6th? Welcome to the board. Like I said at the support group meeting, the TN forum on OH is the best!!!! This is the most caring and supportive group of people you could ever hope to meet. (Just don't ask if anyone has any AchievOne they don't want. LOL) Good luck on getting your approval and surgery date quickly! It will be a wonderful way to welcome Spring. Congrats on your acceptance into the MBA program too!!

Sorry Susan, that wasn't me... I am working all the times of the support groups except the one in Franklin I will try to make next month. I am very excited though and have joined one online support group on yahoo. I called the insurance and they are just now recievin it so maybe tomorrow and then not sure how long it will take to get date but I am hoping the first week of April to have it. Thank you for replying!!! All have been so wonderful to respond so quickly and it really is comforting because I am on pins and needles waiting... Have a great rest of the day!

Okay, you certainly resemble a new pre-op who was there. She was very tall too. I'm 5'3" so just about everyone is tall to me. Well, except for Sheila B. and Alyssa and they are just right! Again, welcome to the board!!

Welcome Melissa, You have reached the best support system available here and if you can make it to the luncheons it is worth it. I am curious, which surgeon at Baptist did you choose, I had my surgery with Dr. Spaw on 1-29-07 and really think a lot of him and his staff. Shelia

Good to meet you Sheila... My doc is Mc Dowell. I just knew he would be it when he said his own dad had it. I thank you for your well wishes but honestly it is just starting to hit me that no matter how much I try to prepare I still have no idea what to expect. Just want to hear that I am approved but from what I hear Cigna is a breeze for that... well they have it scanned in I just have to wait now to hear.
