I went for my 3 month check-up with Dr. Olsen today. I lost 12 lbs. this last month and I am at 49% loss of my intended weight loss. I also had a CT Scan and bloodwork done. I have had middle (left rib area) left back pain since the end of December and Dr. Olsen wanted to make sure there were no adhesions nor any leaks from the surgery. My CT scan was clean - no bad stuff at all. But, he pressed on my back and both my ribs and I about went through the roof. He said this is probably costachondritis. (Costochondritis is an inflammation of a rib or the cartilage connecting a rib.) He prescribed Celebrex. It will probably take about a month or two for it to start feeling better. The bloodwork will be back at the end of next week. So will know results of that later.

Hey Robin...good to see you post! I'm surprised he prescribed Celebrex since it is so hard on our pouches...at least, that's what I've been told. I'm so sorry you are in pain and I sure hope it gets better soon. Did he give any indication on what could cause this? Oh, and what an awesome job on the weight loss...nearly half gone at just three months...wonderful! We have another lunch meeting tomorrow at Chili's in Cool Springs so hope to see you there.

Robin K, Three weeks ago I developed Costochondritis and I went to the ER. I was given three days of steroids and told to take chewable over the counter pain reliever. They did not work because I could not absorb them. I went to my regular PCp and he gave me an injection of steroids and a writen low dose pain killer. I felt so much better and the pain went away in three days. Every now and again it kicks in but not as bad as before. You might want to try another way instead of celebrex. Plus in a week you hardy even remeber the pain. It works way better instead of suffering. Each person knows what works for them. Take care. Your friend, Tina Cannon
