Newbie here
Welcome LaToya. I am in Clarksville also. I have been to see Dr. Steely and you will like him. He is very personable and very confident. He has done lots of these surgeries. I diffently trust him. I haven't had the surgery yet but hope to have around the first or second week of May when hubby gets back home from school in GA. I still have to have the EGD and the sleep study which I will have them in the next 2 weeks. Anyways, enough of my ramblings, welcome and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Welcome! I just want to let you know that I am in Clarksville as well and had my surgery on Feb 1st, with Dr. Steely. He is absolutly amazing and if you have any questions about anything feel free to ask. We also have a support group meeting the last Monday of every month which is very helpful so feel free to join us! Everyone on this board is the best so ask away and we will help!

I had my first consult on Nov 14th and like you I had already had my psych exam. So from Nov14-Feb 1st. The reason it wasn't sooner was because of the holidays plus it depends on how fast you can get in for your sleep study it can take up to 3 weeks I was lucky enough to get it within a few days. I stayed on top of everybody and made appts as soon as I could because I wanted to get my surgery fast. It really depends on your insurance though. I have tricare which is one of their fastest turn arounds. What insurance do you have? Honestly though from my first appt till my surgery date was only 2 1/2 months is not a long time considering some people wait months or even years and have to deal with insurance denials and things of that nature. Well good luck and continue to ask questions they help the process go faster since I am sure it is consuming your life as it consumed mine till I got the date.

Hello LaToya I am new as well only I am just waiting on my approval that is supposed to come today because they said Cigna will approve in 48 hours and today should be the day... or tomorrow... I am having mine in Nashville at Baptist with Dr. McDowell. I haven't had a consult.. I did everything else, seminar, psych, nutritionist but I think they are waiting to do consult till after approval. Wierd... or maybe they forgot to schedule me for that. I don't know but they were working on my letter from them on Wednesday and sending in on Thursday. I am so excited even though I lost my gramps on Friday I can't help that I am anxiously awaiting to hear approval. I feel guilty, I am devastated by the loss but also this is a special time in my life for me and I feel a little selfish. Good to meet you and good luck!
Congrats about your approval... Sorry to hear about your gramps, I'm getting excited for you I can't wait to get mine approved. I'm hoping it doesn't take a long process because my husband is going back to Iraq in August and I'm hoping to have had my surgery by then cause God knows I need him here for me and the kids..

Dr. Steely's office will gice you the number when you have your consult to make the appt. The faster you get those appt's in the faster your surgery date will come. When I first met with Linda in the office who is the nurse that handles the insurance she said her easiest insurance was tricare and it only took them 2 weeks to come back with my approval and that was over New Years, so you will have a real easy time. Keep them questions coming it will make the time go faster!
