Share your wow moment
OK Susan has graciously led us into the weekly body appreciation day... so what I would like to do is also add a "share your wow moment" post so that anyone can share... kind of like show & tell...
I went to the gynecologist today (dont worry I will not SHOW you anything. This is just the TELL part!). And, I put on a small gown. Hot dog! I could not believe that I could actually get the two things tied in the back... I remember being in Centennial during my surgery and I was in heaven with those large gowns that they have for gastric bypass patients...
Your turn!
Okay, today my dad asked me to move my car that has been sitting for two years this month...a 95 Ford Taurus, needs a transmission so if anyone knows where I can get a good used one...anyway, I love the car and won't get rid of it. It only drives in first gear! I moved it and realized there was some stuff in it from our move a year ago. I started cleaning it out and found a bag of dresses that I had bagged up because they didn't fit. I think I was going to give them to someone but I'm not sure. I brought them in the house to make sure they were still okay and realized that some of them were 22's. Sooooo, I was trying them on and sure enough, the 22's fit well. There is a really cute 24 that is still tight, you know how sizes are!...but it will be cute in a few weeks. Okay, long intro I know but here is the wow moment....several years ago I bought a pretty, plain turquoise dress from Roamans in what was supposed to be a 26 but when it got there it was closer to an 18 so it got hung in the closet until I was going to give it to someone. I decided to see if I could at least get it over my head because before I couldn't...literally...and surprise, surprise, not only did it go over my head...it went all the way on...now, it is skin tight and will not see daylight for a while, but I GOT IT ON!!!!!
LOL!! You are right! Too bad I can't wear fancy dresses to class...well, I guess I could but I'd be overdressed. I could wear rhinestone studded sunglasses and tell everyone they look MAAAUUUUVVVEEELLLOOOUUUSSSS! I could really glam up and play the drama queen...I think I am missing my theatre days. I may just have to get back into community theatre after a few more pounds and some more confidence! Yes...I guess you can tell I am feeling better! I can't wait to see everyone Saturday. Do you want to go to Kohls after?
This is a silly WOW but a Wow for me non the less. I went to the Doctor and the nurse was able to take my blood pressure with the normal size cuff I used to always have the large cuff because my arms so large. It felt really good to be able to get a blood pressure read without the nurse having to search for the larger cuff.
Also was at the Ymca Wed and an older gentleman asked me how long I had been working out. I told him about 7 or 8 months he tells me well you can really tell.. you can tell very well. Wheww hoooo!!!
way to go Juanita!!
I could have swore, I thought I saw you at the Y the other day..chasing some kids around (I'm assuming they're yours lol).... but I was working out on the elliptical and didn't want to get off to go see if it was you LOL But I didn't want to go up to that person *****sembled you and be like...hey, we've never met but are you Juanita??? LOL
What times do you usually go?
In the beginning, I did water aerobics. I loved it!! But I got to the point where I just wasn't getting the workout I wanted/needed from it...so I moved upstairs. I typically don't go until on my way home from work... around 6:15. And it is usually packed and I hate it, but I just gotta suck it up ya know. I tried working out in the mornings...but it takes everything I have to just get out of bed. I'm going to try to start working with a personal trainer in April...but I don't know if I'll be able to do it financially..oh well. Have a great day!
