Hello Tn. My name is Don, and I was hoping to get a little info. I am reseaching Doctors right now and was wondering if I could get some input. The Dr. is William Steely in Clarksville. He practices at Gateway Medical. I've read the reviews on OH but thought maybe I could get a few more updated points of view. I'm down here in Western KY. and he is in my network. Any info. on this Doc and hospital would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Don

Hi Don! Dr. Steely is my surgeon. He did my Rny on Feb 1st. He is absolutly wonderful. Very friendly and personable plus very experienced. I had alot of complications in the hospital and he was fully capable of handling it and treating me with respect and dignity. His nurse in the office that does most of the visit stuf is the nicest person I have ever met. She truly cares about Dr. Steely's patients. Of course the secretary in the fron tleaves a little to be desired as far as personality goes do not let that deter you because I could not have asked for a better surgeon. If you have any questions just ask I will be more than happy to help you out. Nicole

Hello Don, I am also seeing Dr. Steely. I haven't had my surgery yet but hoping to do so at the beginning of May when my Hubby returns from school. I have seen Dr. Steely a couple of times and he is GREAT!!! Very nice and personable. I agree with the other poster that the nurse is wonderful too. The front office person does leave alot to be desired but the most important one is the dr. I would send everyone I know to him. He is very experienced and very confident in what he does. Thats what I look for. I want someone that is confident in what he does to cut on me. When I went ot se him on my first visit I had a page full of questions. He took the paper from me, sat down beside me and answered the questions and even wrote down the answers. A lady I know just had her surgery on Tuesday and she made it through it with flying colors. I will let you know more about him as I find out.

I had a lap rny as you are looking to have. Just a bit of info on how great his office is. Yesterday I had caught an awful stomach virus from one of my kids, I though I was going to die or rip open my new stomach, so my husband called the office and they were so great. They called in a prescription for me and told me to com in today if I didn't think I was getting any better. They didn't have to treat me with such great respect. But they did and that is what counts. So fyi the aftercare is amazing. Any other questions feel free to ask!

I know, I thought I was going to die. I am five weeks post op and was sure this was going to put me in the hospital again. Everyone in the house got it and I stayed home to disinfect it today so we don't get it back hopefully. Glad you are feeling better. Do you have a surgery date yet?

Not yet. I am waiting. I still have to do the EDG and the sleep study next week. I am going kinda slow since I don't want to have it until the first week of May. Hubby is in BNCOC in GA right now and he wants to be here when I have it. I keep looking at the before and after pics on here thinking that I can't wait until that 150 lb. person is me. I would be happy at that weight. I know I will lose more just can't wait until that scale doesn't go beyond 150 or even 200 and to get off of these meds.
