I guess this will sound silly but can anyone tell me of a place that can help with the financial cost of the surgery. I have BCBS of TN but as many have said on here it is excluded. Any help would be appreciated.

Most surgeons have arrangements with finance companies for self-pay patients, or they recommend certain companies that finance surgery. The first step will always be to go to one of the seminars. That is usually where they will discuss this aspect of the surgery. Good luck!

Capital One has a financicng program... you can get a brochure from Dr Houston's office, 342-5820. They will probabloy give you one even if you dont want him as your doc ....

Hi Kathy! On the Vanderbilt site, they give you the website for PFS who you can use to get a "loan" to pay for the surgery. The website for PFS is http://www.p-f-s.com/. Misty

There are different BCBS of TN plans. We have BCBS of TN here at my job and we have a written exclusion for WLS. I am on my husband's BCBS of MN and they covered my surgery. That's why I always recommend people check with their HR dept or customer service at the insurance company to find out exactly what their specific plan will cover.
