Dr. Hugh Houston

Hi Everybody, I am being forced to self pay by ( The Evil Insurance Industry ). I have noticed many of the members have used Dr. Houston at Centenial. Can any of you share your opinion of Dr. Houston and Centenial in general. I would appreciate any and all input. Thanks and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY, Steve

Hi Steve! I am also a self pay and surgery is scheduled for Monday Feb. 19th. So far I have really liked Dr. Houston and his office staff. They have all been great to deal with. I can't say just yet about the hospital but I'll let you know next week. Good luck, I wish you the best! Catherine

Steve, Dr Houston is very straight forward and to the point. During before surgery appointments he is rather stiff. I know that is for your own good, would you be a good surgery patient and do you know all the facts etc, etc. He is easy to talk to and listens very very well. He will spend time with you if you need it. I was self pay too and everything has been included in my payment EXCEPT band fills. I am Lap Band. Holly there is a doll. She is very knowledgeable and sweet and leads you step by step. Centennial was very good all in all. The only thing I had a problem with was staff. I had to wait EVERY time I needed them. It was like they were short staffed. I even learned how to disconnect my IV from the outlet and go to the bathroom and take walks on my own. That was when they forgot to come back and put those stupid booties back on me. Everyone else was wonderful and I was only there for 24 hrs. Linda Tidwell

Steve are you doing lapband or gastric bypass? I like Dr. Houston's office alot... everyone is really helpful when you need them. As stated previously many times, Dr. Houston isn't a chitter chatter kind of guy... he is straight and to the point... he will review hyour records thoroughly... and he knows what he is doing for sure....

I was originally going to be using Centennial for my surgery, and then found out that Dr. Olsen wasn't in network for me. I was very happy with the staff there, but I did get a little irritated because we didn't find out until they had submitted all my information to my insurance.

Steve, I was also self pay, and got a little discount because of it . Had my surgery on2/25/04, and Dr Houston is wonderful. As everyone has said he is very serious about what he does. He wants to make sure you are as commited to the process as he is. I also love everyone in his office, when you call them, you actually get a person, not an answering machine. Centennial was also great, they were there whenever I called for them and very helpful. Good luck Darlene Hughes
