Milestones
Well, my first surgeversary is Tuesday (Feb 13). I can't believe it has already been a year. It seems like yesterday and then again, it seems like so long ago. So much has happened in that time. I started out at 307 (and honestly, I was probably more) and as of this morning, I am 159.6. I am now in the overweight category. It is SOOOOOO exciting not to be obese. I honestly never thought I would get to this day! Dr. Tichansky felt I would get to around 150 from the surgery and it looks like he was pretty well on the mark. BUT...I don't intend to stop losing until I am at least at 135. It would be doable, I think...but the nice thing is that if I never lost another pound, I am satisfied and feeling great.
If I could change things, I would never have been over 300 pounds...but I was...and this surgery was the very best choice I made for my life. In about seven more pounds I will have lost more weight than I weigh. I am really looking forward to that!

Go Melanie,
That is great. Keep up the good work. See you in a couple weeks for the Jackson meeting. Thanks for all the support you have given me.
Take care,
Ellen
WOW! you've done wonderfully. I love'd it when I got to where I lost more than I weighed (altough it's hard to admit it to people who don't understand. You're doing great! I just had my 18 month appointment. I'm supposed to maintain. Well, here starts the beginning of a new journey. All I can remember is gaining or losing now I'm a maintainer.
