Nashville Plastic Surgens...?
Hey Everyone! Well since I am 21 pounds away from goal, I am starting to think more seriously about plastics... I am thinking of having a tummy tuck first although if I could afford it my list would be a mile long!!! Have any of you heard/used any of the local plastic surgens? Who's good? Anyone to stay away from? I am so scarred to just open up a phone book and call someone to cut me open!!! I did some research online and found these two women that have a practice together in Nashville, I can't remember there last names though. They are supposed to "specialize" in surgery after massize weight loss, I don't know though, I think I am more scared about plastics then I was about the WLS!
Anyway, Sorry to hear that you can't make it to the get together April, we'll see you next month! I hope I can go, I might have to go with Hubby to a work thing, but I will know for sure on Friday ( AH not looking forward to that, so I REALLY hope to see you guys in Cool Springs, lol! )
Hugs,
Jacqui
I've been doing a little looking into myself..but no where near my ideal body weight!
I'm sure if you contact Vandy, they probably have a referral list of surgeons. I too have been to the website of those two ladies. I was impressed with the website....very thorough and informative. I've also heard good things about Dr. Flemming in Brentwood. He and his office were at the Walk from Obesity in October. They gave everyone who participated a free facial. It was awesome!
Anyways, good luck with your search! Keep us posted and let us know if you find a good one or not!

Hey! Although I haven't had my WLS yet, I am already looking into having plastic. I'm in Chattanooga and that's not too far from Nashville. If you find someone good, please let me know. I've done some looking local, but I haven't heard/read anything that I like. My insurance should cover all the cost for the WLS, but I know that I'll have to pay for plastic out of my own pocket. I'd like to get some info and start saving my $$. Anyone know how much a tummy tuck and lower lift normally run?
Hey Jacqui, I asked at Centennial about this not long ago and Kathy Hungerford gave me a list of preferred or recommended surgeons. I remember the top one was a really weird name but I can't think of it. I will hunt the list up and email you with the names on it. Some of them also offered discounts depending on which hospital you had your wls at. Hope you make it Saturday but if not I'll see you in March.
Thanks Kym, that would be a big help. Vandy never talked about plastic surgens, although I never asked, lol. I talked to my Dad about it and he said his friend had a facelift with one of those lady surgens, I was talking about ealier. He said he looked amazing, and that she did an awesome job. I don't know though, facelift vs. tummy tuck too very different things. I think I am just so scared because I watched some talk show last week with a women that had a tt ( in mexio though ) and the like removed her stomach and she was all deformed, so sad. Anyway, I am rambling! I will let you guys know if I find anyone good!!!

I know quite a few people who have used Dr. Lois Wagstrom. She has worked on a whole bunch of massive weight loss patients. She has a website... just google her.
I am going to consult with her, perhaps, but I think I'll end up having my plastics in Brazil with Dr. Fabio. I'm thinking I'll just take next summer, go to Brazil, have a few procedures, heal up for a few weeks, have the rest of the procedures, see the city and be home in time for school to start back.
It's been a long time since I looked at the price list, but I think I remember I was looking at around $12,000-$14,000 for arm lift, breast lift, tummy tuck, lower body lift, lipo, travel and accomodations.
That may be way off... just what comes to mind.

The website is really new, but there is much more to come. Dr. Fabio will be in Nashville in April. I'm going to consult with him then and attend the weekend event.
Doctor Wagstrom was featured on Discovery Channel last night, she performed surgury on a wls patient of Dr. Husted who was at Baptist. She did a great job on the lady shown (I believe her name was Kathy Harris).
In some cases insurance will pay for skin removal if it is a health issue, such as rashes, causing mobility problems, ect... but it has to be documented with pictures and doctor reports...
Take Care Good luck,
Belinda
