How much should we be eating at 7 months? There are days where I feel like I can eat all day long and others where I don't want to put anything in my mouth. Its so weird..Does anyone else experience this?

Hi April, I know just what you mean. There's days I can eat more and more often, and others, the thought of food is nauseating. Like today, I can't stand the thought of food, and yesterday I seemed constantly hungery. I think mine has to do more with the new chemo pills I am on. I just cleaned out my fridge as I couldn't stand the thought of rewarming something up. So it hit the trash. I do have ground chicken thawing, but now weather it gets cooked to night is another matter. I managed even with the flu shot to get the flu, and I am very tired and run down. Just want to crawl back into bed. I was that way at 7 months out and even now at 10 months out. Our bodies are apparently telling us something. Still can't handle the smell or sight of an omelet or scrambled eggs and I love omelets, even bought an omelet skillet, hasn't been touched since Mother's Day. Tuna sends me to the nearest trash can to throw up, the smell really does a number on me. I guess as long as you try and eat something with protein in it, you'll be ok. As for how much we are supposed to eat in one day, I don't have the slightest clue. Best thing is to ask your nutrionist. I don't have long distance service and mine is long distance. So if you find out, let me know. Love ya Kathy

Thanks Kathy From the responses I've received, I think how much we can eat individually varies. We are all unique so the amount we can eat varies from person to person. I'm the same way a lot of the time with eggs. I wi**** wasn't because eggs are so easy to fix for myself. I hope you get to feeling better! That flu shot can be just as worse as having the full blown flu. Take care! April

Yep! Even at 9 months out I have days that I don't feel like eating. If it weren't for the clock and hubby's tummy growling I wouldn't remember to eat. Other days, I find myself staring into the refrigerator or pantry as soon as I finish a meal. Like I have room for anything else in my pouch at that point! It's crazy!!! Usually getting my mind on something else will take care of the desire to graze. Other times I have to get out of the house. Sometimes having a glass of water will take care of the problem too. I don't know that there is a specific amount we should be eating at this point other than getting in our 80 grams of protein & the water. Most days I'm happy with 3 small meals, other days I need a couple of snacks added, and others I have to make myself at least drink a couple of protein shakes to get my nutrition in. You're looking good girlfriend! Susan

Thanks for the reply Susan! I posted on the main board to about this and from what I hear, a lot of people at this stage are going through the same thing. Each person is different in the amount of food they can eat too. I guess I'm just at the point where I'm just going to have to really focus on my food choices because I certainly can tolerate a lot more than I hoped! Yesterday I made horrible food choices... the carb monster attacked. But today is a new day and so far so good... except getting in my water. I think one of my problems is not wanting to cook anything. My husband won't eat the kinds of foods I cook so I usually end up cooking for one and that is just about as tedious as cooking for 20! So I try to avoid cooking at all costs lol

I hear you on the cooking for one. I find that I can't tolerate many leftovers. In fact, about the only thing I can tolerate reheated is chili. Luckily my husband loves my chili. I fix a pot just about every week and we eat on it for 3 or 4 days. (not in a row ) I usually cook one generous serving for my husband and I have a little bit of whatever protein & veggie I fix for him. If he is wanting something that I know I can't eat, I'll fix myself some cottage cheese or pintos & cheese. Those have become my new comfort foods. When nothing else sounds good, I never seem to get tired of those 2 items. I'm like Kathy with the tuna. What goes down comes right back up. I figure it's my body rebelling after the tons of tuna I must have eaten in my lifetime on various "diets". My pouch just refuses to accept another flake of tuna. I can't tolerate scrambled eggs either. I can eat an egg poached, soft boiled, hard boiled, even fried, but I cannot eat it scrambled. I figure I'm still in the learning curve. Each week is an adventure of "What's on your plate?"
