SOMEONE HELP!
I am in desperate need of gastric bypass surgery. I do not have insurance and I will need to self pay. The only problem is I keep getting denied for a loan. I even have 2 seperate co-signers and I still get denied. I am willing to go travel to have my surgery if I can just find a Dr. that takes payments or a finance company that won't deny me. Any little info you have will help and will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi Adriana,
I sorry to hear that you are having trouble getting the money for a loan. I live near Memphis, TN and I know of two doctors that do the gastic bypass but I don't know if they accept payments. One is Dr. George Woodman and the other is Dr. VirginaMcGarth-Weaver(sp?). Dr. Woodman is my doctor but I have insurance. I just got appoval and hopefully be having my surgery in Jan. I pray that maybe one of these doctors can help you.

Thanks for your help and your prayers. Unfortunatly neither of these Dr.'s do a direct finance. I live in Nashville and there are 4 Dr.s that do the sugery here but I wasn't able to get the loan for the $24,000. That's a lot of money and not a lot of financial places are willing to dish out that much money unless you have perfect ( and I mean perfect) credit. But your help was dearly appreciated. Good luck in Jan!
Dont know if any take direct financing but there are many more gastric surgeons in Nashville than four... who do by pass surgery ...Vanderbilt has at least 3 ... Baptist has at least 2 and Centennial has 3 excellent, top notch ,surgeons ..there are others at the other hospitals I know about these 3 hosptials because I went to the weight loss seminars at Baptist and Centennial and I talked directly to the gastic patient phone line at Vanderbilt .. you are lucky to be living in Nashville with so many good surgeons and care around you just get the out the phone book and start calling all of them, also, all of the nashville hospitals are online with phone numbers good luck .. hope you get your financing somehow...
Hi Adriana, Dr. Boyce in Knoxville offers financing to those who have no insurance. I attended his seminar and he mentioned it, that his office will finance those who need the surgery and have no insurance. I don't have his number right off hand, but if you check out the bariatric surgeons to the left of this site, you may find him that way. Best of luck to you. Kathy
Just a few companies in the area who ARE hiring and who DO cover WLS with their insurance -- Gap distribution in Gallatin, Dell computers in Nashville AND Lebanon, Kroger (everywhere), and there is a rumour that Wal-Mart's insurance will cover WLS starting in 2007. I know for a fact that these companies cover WLS. There are probably others. That would be your best bet considering your financial straits.
