Hi April, I noticed that you live in Bristol. I used Dr. Hodge in J.C. He was really good. Have you tried him? I don't know anything about Dr. Boyce, but I'm sure someone on here does. When you find out about your surgery, please let us know. We are a bunch of good people here & we want to help anyway we can. Keep your chin up & keep on working toward your goal. I always try to remember this, "we shall overcome" I was a heavyweight when I had my surgery, & still am. E Mail me sometime & I will tell you a little about it. Best of luck to you. Sara.

My BMI was 44 when I had my band surgery. I don't know the highest. Have you attended one of his seminars?

My BMI is 40 right now but my husband's was around 52 or 53 last week when he had his surgery. I don't know what his "limit" is. I am pretty sure that he only does the laprascopic and not the open procedure. Janie

Hi there, first of all I just want to say that I think Dr. Boyce is absolutely awesome. My BMI was 36 when I started and I had the lap band surgery on 9-25-06. I have no idea what his limit is and I don't recall him saying he had one at any time. I do know that he will perform open procedures if required because mine was a possible open because of the size of my liver. Luckily he was able to avoid it and did it laproscopically. My advice would be to call the office and talk to Johnnie or Sarah and ask them. I hope that helps.
