Thank You Sweet Jesus!!!!!!!!!!

Let me start off by saying I AM APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been very emotional for a while now so I went to my PCP and asked her to put me back on an antidepressant. She asked me how my approval for surgery was going and I told her that I was about to give up on ever having the surgery. After my appointment, I came home and decided to call my insurance company and see if I could find out anything. She put me on hold and then came back and said that I had been approved on Oct 6th and they have my date of service down for Nov27th. I started to tear up and asked the lady to please repeat what she said just one more time so I know that I heard it correctly!!! I know those of you that have heard that wonderful word of "approved" knows what kind of emotions I am going thru right now. I have cried ever since the phone call. I want to be healthy again and not just for me but for my 11 year old son. Its cloudy outside but this is one of the most wonderful days of my life so far!!!

Hi Ms Me. Congradulations on getting aproved. That is what it's all about folks, getting that approval. Makes everything else just a dream. That's the hardest part is the waiting for the insurance approval. I am really glad you made that phone call. Otherwise you might still be waiting. You go girl. Is November 27 your surgery date? Thank you so much for those kind words, Kathy. I just cant describe the joy and relief that I am feeling right now. My surgery will be done by Dr. Wright at Vanderbilt so with God by my side and Dr Wright performing the surgery, I couldnt be in better hands.

Ms. Me, I just got my approval six days ago so I completely understand! I just got my official letter from my insurance today and I swear I want to sleep with it! My husband says he is going to frame it and I said "Why????" and he said because it was like my new birth certificate! LOL...but it does feel like being reborn so to speak...I can't wait for my surgery in December. Congratulations!

Congrats to you as well!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear I think thats a great idea to frame the letter of approval. I think I am going to do that and hang it on my wall somewhere. What day did you finally stop tearing up?? lol I dont think I felt this wonderful after my first kiss! lol

Well, I thought I was done tearing up until today and just reading that letter...it all came back. It was like, okay I know they TOLD me I was approved, but until I had that letter in my hand, it was too good to be true. Then I cried again, and I'm still tearing up a little right now. I can just feel my entire life changing. I have never been a healthy weight in my entire life. I was born at 9 lbs and kept gaining...lol. I don't know what I'll even look like. My brothers and sisters all have dimples so I can't wait to see if I'll have them too! Just little things like that, things so many people take for granted. I've never shopped in normal sizes, even as a child I was in plus sizes. So, as if you couldn't tell, this is truly going to be an amazing thing for me. I have so many emotions running through my mind it seems like 24/7. And I have become addicted to OH! When I am financially able, I am definitely going to be a sponsor...this site has literally saved my life...it's where I found my surgeon and started this journey!

Laura, How are you doing now? What have been your hardest things to overcome with the band in place? Eating, pain, hunger etc. Linda

Linda I am doing great !! I am down 40 lbs I had an RNY htough hot the band . I think my biggest problem was sleeping the first week . I slept in the recliner or on the couch with lots of pillow . Laura
