Johnson City newbie!

Hi everyone- I'm a newbie to this site. I currently live in Johnson City. I would like to chat with area locals about doctors and insurance stuff and everyone in general about the procedures. I've researched various WLS online, but I would like to hear stories first hand. Thanks ~Amber~

Amber, I live REALLY close to Knoxville, but used Dr. Michael Hodge in J.C. I have BlueCare/Medicade insurance. I have done wonderful. If I can be of any help, please feel free to e mail me & I will try to do my best to give you some insights. Sara.

Hi Amber and welcome to the best board. Here you'll find answers, friends, and a lot of love and support. I saw Dr. Hodge as my first surgeon, before I went to Maryville and had my surgery last January. I'll be nine months out on Monday and I have done great lost 116 pounds within 8 months. Only need to lose 29 more to my goal. So let us know or feel free to ask any questions and someone can give you the answers. Keep us posted on your journey. Thank you for your support! May I ask why Dr. Hodge didn't do the surgery? I have yet to meet with him and I just wanted to find out everything I can if there is the possibility that I might put my life in his hands. KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK!!!!! Congrats... There is a support website of WLS patients that is local to Johnson City. Most people that attend it are Drs. Watson and Hdge patients. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/TriCitiesTNSupport/ Pat Cline is the WLS co-ordinator for Johnson City Medical Center, she also heads up the support group. They have a meeting this Friday night, Oct. 13th, at 5 for pre WLS and at 6 for everyone. It is held at the Johnson City Medical Center, 7th floor auditorium # 3 Dr Watson's and Hodge office manager also attends most of these meetings in case someone has a question about the office or insurance etc.
