They do not assign caseworkers to the predeterminations, evidently. I can only talk to customer service reps that look in their little crystal balls... aka computer. Anyway, I am getting impatient in waiting to get an answer. I call everyday, and they always say allow 7-14 business days. Well yeah? Today IS the 7th business day! So how come no one will walk their patootie over there and ask,... has someone started this girls case file yet? sigh

I didn't have any trouble w/BCBS. I never worked with a "caseworker." I just kept caling customer service until I got my answer. Just be patient. I think it took a week for me ... it was the longest week ever! April

Melinda, I know from having BlueCross/Blue Sheild Mecaide. They do not make any decision fast. They like to take their time. ANd they will use up to a month to 6 weeks at the most. I know you heard this before be patient and calm. Keep on calling and bugging them they will get tired and get to your case. I wish you all the luck and I will keep you in my prayer that they get to your case sooner. Your friend, Tina

Which BCBS do you have? I'm supposed to have an answer back from mine in 30-45 days and I'm not sure if that's business days...but when I looked on the insurers info Horizon BCBS of NJ (my insurance) has approved everyone after the first letter. I'm so nervous. Good luck to you. -Alyssa

I have BC Preferred of TN. My company pays their own claims and have control of what to tell BC they will or will not cover. The answer is supposed to come within 7-14 business days. Today is the 10th business day and it seems like it has been a month! I call every day and a new rep every day says "Please allow 7-14 business days" and finally yesterday, I said "Today is the 9th business day" and he tried to tell me that no it wasn't, they got my records on 8/18. I said no you got them on 8/10 and I have already been advised of that. And I also said that I knew a woman whose case was denied for 6 months at BC and no one even had opened her file!! He said he didn't know who my source was, but that does not happen. Umm, ok.
