While I'm waiting for my surgery, I've been sprucing up my profile. Wow, what fun it was, but soooo time consuming because I'm so slow with the html language! Speaking of slow, I just wonder if anyone will have a hard time with my profile loading because I have so much stuff on there. Check it out and let me know if you have any problems with it. Hi Melodie, just finished reading your profile. I love the music you picked out. I had mine done with cats, and song is "One Day at a Time". I am so glad you and your family believe in God. I know as a parent of two sons, how proud of the I am, and I know to have two sons graduating from college, talented in music, and with the church is so important. There is so much temptation out there for children. My oldest is 29, married with a 19 month old son, and my second son is 27 married with a son, who will be 4 in August. None go to church, yet they became Christians, Phillip and his family will go once in a while, but the younger one and his family don't except for special occasions. But I'm glad He's on my side. I couldn't have gone thru the surgery, the chemo, or having this leukemia without him beside me. He keeps me strong when I don't feel like I can go thru anymore. Thank you for sharing your family with us. In God's Name, Kathy

Thanks for the reply, Kathy! You're right; there's just no way any of us could go through the things in our life without the Lord on our side! I'm so grateful that He has allowed me to live in a time when this surgery is available and that He has given the doctors the wisdom & knowledge to do it so safely. I'm also grateful that He saw fit to allow my insurance co. to cover this surgery.....it has been answered prayer step-by-step all the way!! Take care & stay in touch, Melodie 297/264/160

best of luck, i had mine march 13, 2006, just 13 days before my 40th birthday. i have lost 65 lbs as of today, june4. some advice, slow down all your eating, that is where i am still having a problem, just plain eating too fast, because it will make you sick, also, go ahead and start giving up carbonated drinks, and don't let anyone tell you that this surgery is the easy way out. it is not, but is is worth it. i was on an insulin pump using 250 units per day, glucophage, and actos, i was on the pump for 1 week following surgery and have not had any blood pressure medication, or insuline or any diabetic medicine since a week after my surgery, but do this for you and for the benefits this surgery will bring. i would do it again. good luck and god be with you and your surgeon . sharonc

You are doing so well! Wow! 65 lbs. in less than 3 mos....and better than that is the benefits to your health!! I hope to be able to get off the HBP meds and cholesterol medication. I will always have to take thyroid medication, though. I know I eat things too fast and don't chew enough now, but I'm trying to gradually make changes. I gave up sodas months ago. Thanks for sharing your nuggets of wisdom, Sharon! Melodie 297/264/160
