im also 17 (female) and im hoping to have the surgery but alot of doctors have told me i have to be 18, how did u end up getting it at ur age ??...if u dont mind i have some questions to ask because it seems very complicated with the doctors meetings and stuff, so far ive had a consultation with my doctor.but i i heard thers alot of things you need to have or be to be a candidate so i would appreciate it if ud reply back ...thanx

Hi, All! Im a 17 year old female who was banded on September 29, 2006! Just hit the two week mark! I would love to talk to some teens around my age who have gone through this and have some advice! I will take anything! :)

My granddaughter just had the lap band done by Dr Kuri in Mexico. She was a self pay. The doctor ,staff and hospital were top notch. The hospital was brand new and state of the art. Care was much better than you get here in the states. She had the surgery on saturday and came home the next day feeling great. Has lost 16 pounds in a month.
Dr Kuri has done these surgeries for years amd has taught doctors in the states for do them.

Hey , how's things going ? well i read some of your profile and you seem like a nice/ cool person to be friends with, most of your whole list i want to be able to do after WLS. I tried making friends here before but only met like one other person, seems like this forum is kinda dead other than a few posts here and there ... anyway i'm 20 yrs old, from california and i recently applied for insurance (which was by saying the least was hard) because of the high bmi ... anyway you can write back here if you want or email me
