hi michelle, I am also 17 and i didnt have the Lap RNY i had gastric Bypass RNY i'm out almost 3 months and i feel great! im down 50 pounds im so happy...i chose not to have the lap because althought it is a less evasive procedure, you do have to get the band tightened a lot and there are chances of the band slipping and not working effectively... with the bypass there is the possibility of stretching the pouch but i think either way you really have to have the will power to do what is right and stop when you need to....i hope the surgery goes through...and if you have any questions or would like to talk you can e-mail me at [email protected].
