Topic: RE: please respond ???
hi michelle,
I am also 17 and i didnt have the Lap RNY i had gastric Bypass RNY i'm out almost 3 months and i feel great! im down 50 pounds im so happy...i chose not to have the lap because althought it is a less evasive procedure, you do have to get the band tightened a lot and there are chances of the band slipping and not working effectively... with the bypass there is the possibility of stretching the pouch but i think either way you really have to have the will power to do what is right and stop when you need to....i hope the surgery goes through...and if you have any questions or would like to talk you can e-mail me at [email protected]. GOOD LUCK!!

I don't have this insurance, but I hope this helps. There is an insurance forum. Go to Forums go to show all forums then scroll down the list. It should be under "Insurance". OR you can go to the Q & A section, type in the name of your insurance, and see what pops up. I hope that helped!

Topic: ANYONE who knows me...
...or feels strongly about this issue....
I am having a hard time with approval from my medical team because I am the youngest person EVER in the program (19 going on 40) and they want to be perfectly sure that I can handle the huge responsibility and comittment that surgery requires. Im looking for either personal references to write a short note or paragraph about me as an individual (and my amazing amount of maturity and understanding of WLS) or of people's personal opinions about age and WLS, if they agree that it doesnt matter how old you are, it matters where you are mentally in your life. Any help would be amazing because I plan on submitting these responses to my medical team on November 22nd. I am re-posting this to other boards so if you see this again, sorry! haha Thanks guys. Feel free to email me if you need any other information. I really really appreciate your help and support in my fight!

Hi all, I am extremely interested in the lapband surgery and am a "blank slate", could really use a buddy for process. Unsure of which insurance providers are known for accepting this procedure, qualified doctors to perform it, or even requirements involving post-surgey. Any advice is needed -please. Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you! -jennifer-ny

Hello Ohers,
I am helping out a friend who is doing a psychology research project on body image in 16-25 year olds. She thought it would be interesting to see what kind of body image issues younger people who have had wls deal with. She wants people who are at least 4 months out, of any kind of WLS. If you are at least 4 months out and are between the ages of 16 and 25, and you have a few minutes, please copy and paste the following questions to a message and e-mail them to me either here or at [email protected]. Thanks for your time, this really will help my friend out.
1. Age:
2. Months/Years since WLS:
