Topic: INSURANCE APPROVED!!!!!!
After trying to have gastric bypass since I was 16 and getting denied 2 times and all the appeals but nothing, yesterday I got the call that my insurance approved my surgery!!!!!!! I think its about time! I am so excited. I have given them the dates I would want to have it, which is around thanksgiving since I have some time off school. They said they would call me back to let me know if those dates would work or not. I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Topic: Insurance Approval for 15yo Daughter
Having watched me go through the surgery August 2006, my daughter, who will be 16 in November and has a BMI over 50, is interested in having RNY. My insurance is currently Kaiser, but I have the option of changing insurance plans this November. Does anyone know which insurance companies (in the DC/MD/VA area) would cover WLS for 16 year olds? Thanks! Linda

im really excited. but im scared about loosing the weight what do you tell the
kids at school. its not like i can hide it thats the only thing im worried about

i just called to see if my insurance covered it today and they said they have to if the surgery is needed or some crap. im sorry u have to wait but im new here too and i hope the insurance company changes their mind

I am 16 and i love all of this but i wonder when boys are really going to start getting interested, and if there are guys on here, pleassse tell me what you think. Its not why I had it but i feel like its a reward and it will inspire me more. Idk
