Topic: Miss Bimbo an online game for 9 year olds!!!!!
If you thought Bratz dolls sent a negative body image to young girls you havent seen anything yet! How about an online game geared to 9 year olds that allows them to make their own online BIMBO doll and get points for getting plastic surgery, loose points for it gaining weight, etc.  At least they removed the option for buying your Bimbo diet pills!!!!  Seriously this is unreal!  Read more on my blog!

Topic: RE: NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCY FOR RNYers INEVITABLE?
No, it's not inevitible!  If you take care of yourself you should do great.  I am 2 1/2 years out (I'm 33).  I take all my vitamins and supplements, and my labs are always perfect.  I've lost 120 lbs and had a baby (my#4) since my surgery and I've been super healthy the whole time.  My baby is healthy, too--she's four months old and breastfeeding exclusively.  I have a friend who had RNY and lives on junk food and for some reason feels like crap all the time.  Hmm.  She also never exercises.  It's so hard not to whack her on the head every time I see her, as much as I love her! You're much more likely to have long term problems if you don't get the help you need. :-) Debbie

Mom to Emily (3/30/98), Susannah (9/19/00), Johnny (6/19/04),
and post-op baby Rachel (11/22/07).  Wife to Tony since 1995.
Lap RNY 11/15/2005.  120 lbs gone for good!

Topic: Clothing Exchange

The clothing exchange is a wonderful tool we have on here. I personally have gotten some beautiful clothes from wonderful people on OH. And I am very thankful to all of you that have shared things with me. I actually listed for a first time today, just a pair of shorts that my son only wore once but they are like new. anywho...  the point to this post is that it would be really nice if after someone puts a claim on your item if you would delete it from the exchange board, leaving it causes others to email you with hopes of getting it when it isnt available. some of the ones on there have been there for months and were gone within minutes of being posted. so please if you have a post that is no longer available please delete it..  thanks so much and god bless you all.

Hi again. I just remembered that you could care less if your daughter is super skinny, but you wanted her to be HEALTHY. Well I just wanted to show you this story (I bookmarked while at work ) to remind you that obesity is an epidemic, and therefore the only way to HELP COMBAT that is through exercise and healthy eating. The teaming up of an active lifestyle and a healthy diet CAN BE an ideal initiative to fight childhood obesity and improve the health. Plus I just like the idea of a mother and daughter in it together-- taking every step of the way...

I totally agree with Brok. I think having a set plan for her meals is a good idea. Also, I think another way to help her out in being healthy, is to take part in the changes-- like eat the good meals with her, have the good snacks with her, and maybe try exercising with her. Having a nice routine or making time to do these healthy beneficial things together will definitely pay off. It's always good to have an active parent take the steps with you.

Hi, While I am not 100% correct on my answer to your question, I would think that it wouldn't be possible if you are taking them religiously and doing your annually blood work check ups.  I think it would be easy to be really easy to have a deficiency if you are not taking a specific vitamin, that is highly needed.  Like for example if you completely sip your potassium that could be extremely dangerous.  But anyway, I am not too too sure.  Why don't ya post this on the main board or the RNY forum and see what answer you get. :)

Thank you so much Brok. Hearing this from a younger person helps me stay in touch with what she may need.

Little changes with treats that are low fats will allow her to be more successful in the long run. I believe we can find some happy medium for her.

I have talked to her the last few days and she really wants to help herself. It was so embarrassing be confronted but she needed to face facts. She is strong and I believe she will get through this. She many not ever be supper skinny but who cares that is not important. She needs to be healthy.
