Not much. It depends really on how long you've been big, and the elasticity of your skin. It depends on your age because when you get older, your skin loses elasticity. But if you never had good elasticity, then it doesnt matter how older you are. Then it depends on how long you've been obese, and how big you were pre-op. It varries from person to person because there are so many factors! You just have to wait and see what you look like after your weight is gone! THANK YOU whoever invented plastic surgery!!! lol!!! ~Amy post-op DS 11-5-04

Hey people. I'm Lindsay, age 19. I didn't realize OH had all these neat forums, I'd only posted on the main messageboard. So glad to see they have a teen forum because most/all of the people i've talked to have been a lot older than me. Wanted to know what it's like for us young'ins. I'm pre-op. Waiting for surgeon consult. I'm totally expecting to be approved though. I was wondering how MUCH of a difference age makes in the elasticity of the skin...anyone post-op have comments on this? Is it really unlikely that you'll need plastic surgery or no...

Topic: RE: Anyone find a new drink?
I've seen alot of low carb fruit drinks but I looked at the sugar content and it's still pretty high. Plus alot of those low carb drinks use more sugar alcohol which is suppose to be different than regular sugar but my pouch doesn't think so.

Topic: RE: Diet soda
my surgeon said that the first 7 months not to drink diet or any drink with carbonation like seltzer water. He said it will not stretch the pouch, only grazing all day on food will do that. But one thing to watch out for is that the aspartame (spelling) used in diet soda can cause cravings. The carbonation can cause that painful gas full stomach feeling. I don't know if that would happen with DS though.
