i dont usually get looks like that. the people that i know and meet dont really stare or wonder what size i am. sometimes i wonder if someone wears a size bigger then me but usually i just do my thing. but i completely get the feeling.

I have vlue cross and i was approved...im 16...i went though Dr. Felix in fresno...you should check him out..he deals with younger patients a lot...

i hear ya on that! i had my insurance drop me a week before my surgery... but by the grace of god i didnt have to fight, they reinstated me before i even got the letter :D
thats so great that your going to be able to have your surgery! it is a life changing operation. g/l with everything and lkeep us updated.

Topic: I Beat Aetna! Lap Band Approved!
Hey I posted here a couple of times and have been fighting with my freakin insurance company. I been doing it for 7 months! Finally after I went to NY state i won I beat Aetna now they have to pay for my Lap Band surgery. I am so excitted and I want everyone to know never stop trying to get it were all young iam only 20 and now I have a life changing operation to go through and it is going to be great when it is all over. I have never been so excitted and just wanted everyone to know to never stop fighting because if you want it as bad as you do you will get it.

Thank you for replying hun =) I'm feeling better now, I was just a bit cranky before because it was all so fresh and I was fuming!...it's hard understanding the mentality of some people every now and then...I think i'll just take this as an example of the type of person i NEVER want to be once I do lose some weight =) I do think many girls do feel like they need to degrade others in order to feel better about themselves, and this doesn't apply to big girls like me or beautiful, losing women like yourself

Wow.
Like you, I've come to terms with the fact that in a "normal" store, if people start whispering or whatever, I feel like it's me, even if I don't know for sure. If that happened to me, mom or not, I probably would have said something. Of course, in my case, that's if my mom didn't beat me to it, but that's besides the point.
It all boils down to people being stupid. I never looked at people the way she did, but I know for a lot of years I was in denial about my size. I shopped in the big stores or whatever but for some reason I always though "I'm not THAT big". Maybe she thinks like that and feels the need to prove it to herself by degrading others?
I don't have a good answer, but lots of (((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))

Topic: Got an appointment
Well, I found a doctor that does the gastric bypass and lapband on people 15 years old up in Va. So i got my mom to call and I got an appointment with him June 2. So i hope everything goes well. I will keep you posted!!
