Topic: RE: what are all of the steps that you must take?
HEy girl,
Well I think every doctors procedures are different cause i did all of that before they even sent my stuff to my insurance. But after i got approved the doctors office called me and told me and then they set up a surgery date then a date for my preop consultation. then when i went to my pre-op visit they talked to me specificaly about how serious this surgery was and i signed my life away(so to speak) and they had me go over to the hospital and have an EKG done and three different tubes filled with blood then a chest x-ray and i had to preregister for my surgery and that was it now im just waiting here as the hours and days pass by before i get put to sleep for my surgery.. which is tuesday. i cant wait im so nervous and excited..but i hope everything works out for you..good luck,
Brittany

If they do then it will be October...anyways...do you aim? Or msn messenger? I would love to talk to you about your journey with your diet. And the problems you had with your insurance..hope to talk soon...

Topic: New Member, Hello!
I frequented this site about a year ago in hopes of having WLS. Due to finances and insurance problems I never was able to have it. The site offered a wealth of information and support though. Since than I gained a few more pounds.
I am a 19 year old from Oregon, and I have recently started eating a diet planned out by Curves. Due to being anxious to go exercise in public, I have not yet started going to the Curves gym. This coming Wednesday will be my one month anniversay. I weighed last week and was down to 389. So I have averaged just about five pounds a week from just eating differently.
I really hope that I can get the support, and give the support that all of us need in reaching our weight loss goals. I hope my method of doing so doesn't point me at the odd person out. I look forward to meeting with all of you.

Topic: what are all of the steps that you must take?
what are all of the steps that you must go through after being approved for the surgery? I hear that first you go to the consultation w/ surgeon and then psych evaluation and after that you have a cardiology and pulmulmonary exam or something along that sort and then you take some nutritional courses and complete your pre-op steps and then they can schedule you for the surgery? I know this is going to sound so weird and silly coming from someone who should have done their research properly but can someone explain to me what happens during the pre-op procedure? The reason I ask is because I am petrified of needles and I wonder how many will be used that day?
Thanks for all the info and I will keep in touch with all

Topic: RE: gatorade and powerade?????????
i heard that powerade is fulll of nothing but sugar. I always thought that gatorade and powerade were so much better than carbonated drinks but obviously they are not. I think the best way to go ESPECIALLY if you are post-op is water. I hear that you are supposed to drink 64 ounces of water every day. I hope that this information is helpful.
