Well...I'm only a 9 days out. So far I've been able to eat cottage cheese, peanut butter, low-sugar/low-carb yogurt, sugar free jello, Ritz peanut butter crackers, and almost any thin soup. I probably didn't help you much, but I tried!! Good luck!

I know exactly how you feel. I was denied twice by insurance only because I was a minor. They refused to even look at all my commorbities. It didn't matter that I was slowly dying of obesity...they only focused on my age: 16. So my parents ended up refinancing our house so we could pay off my mom's gastric bypass, and also pay for mine. I hated my insurance. Still do. But atleast it's all over now and I've had the surgery. Good luck with you though!!

i know what ya mean, i hated the waiting part it was like GAH!!! i didnt sleep right, i woke up thinking about it and went to bed thinking about it, lol. but im telling you the day that letter, or phone call in my case, there is such a sense of "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" :collapses on floor from releif: that its amazing, lol.

Did anyone else go completely insane while waiting for approval? Monday night I finished my class required prior to surgery and the instructor sent all of our info to the head of bariatric surgery, who then sends it down to the surgery committee for approval. Said we should know in 2 weeks, and I'm already going nuts. The sucky part is that they don't even CALL you to tell you, they SNAIL MAIL you a letter of approval. Wtf? I could know 5 days sooner if they just called me. Ahhhhh! *pulls out hair and collapses*

Welcome to the post board. I was just approved for the RNY-gastric bypass surgery and my date is scheduled in August. I noticed that you are new to this website. You will get a lot of support here and you will want to be around all of these lovely people all the time because there is always someone to talk to and meet. Welcome to the board and I hope you find alot of helpful information!!!!!

I'm extremely late on this but I work at starbucks here in nyc
and I know they have a ****load of sbuks in texas
it's easy to get a job there and they're always hiring and if you can put up with the coffee illuminati crap for 3 months you get healthcare aetna to be exact and co pays are extremely low
I've seen a bunch of profiles on here where aetna covered peoples wls
so if you're willing to put up with coffee and smelling like coffee you can get a job at starbucks and if you decide to apply email me and I will tell you everything to say on the app so you'll look like a coffee nazi to them
cause thats what they are a bunch of people extremely anal about there coffee

Hello all
My names not actually Isha it's Naima but with this whole set up I kinda did'nt want my friends googling my name and finding me here
well I kinda started my journey at 17 but it was out of the question with my family etc..
so I'm 19 years old now and beginning my journey again my mom has been weird but is somewhat supportive and will be there with me through the whole ordeal
I'm wanting to have lap rny and I'm rescheduling an appt with Dr Kini at mount sinai Surgicallyslim.com
my actual appt was yesterday june 8th but due to some issues with my hmo
they couldnt process payment so I've straightened everything out with my hmo and they are covering my consultation and surgery fees
I'm really excited and I'm hoping I can be put into the doctors schdule sometime next week
my stats
5'9 1/2 or 5'10 on a good day 280
my highest weight was 317 but on a series of crash diets I got down to 252 only to shoot back up again
I'm trying to keep my weight stable now and I'm looking forward to all you guys post

Thank you Finda! How are you doing today? When do you start all your pre-op testing? I called deaconess hospital today and they "claim" they dont take my insurance. So St mary's is is i guess. I really like what i have heard about Dr Throop. I cant wait to start meetings and actually meet him!! Have a good day everyone! I hope everyone is doing GREAT!!
