Topic: RE: Any 20 somethings on here?!
Heya. I am 21. Maybe they should rename this message board? =)
Anyways, my name is Amanda and I'm pre-op... but I finally got my date: September 22, 2005! (A long way off, I know)
I am preparing and reading a lot. I will be traveling to Dayton Ohio for my surgery (I'm having DS) and since it's about 5 hours away, I will be staying there for my first 3 weeks post-op.
Hope to get to know some of you!
Amanda
5'3"
330 lbs.
goal: I'd be satisfied with anything under 200, or a size 14... But wouldn't it rock if I got down to 150?! Yeah!
Topic: RE: Crazy goals.
Nice goal...seriously. I always had people asking me pre-op if I was pregnant...nope, just had a big belly. I still do, but it's going down.
And thanks. I love your picture, very classy and fun. You should put up a new post op one, though!

Topic: Crazy goals.
So, here we all are, at various points in our "journeys." But I want to know...when you think about losing/having lost all this weight...what are your crazy goals? What's the craziest thing that you're looking forward to or are working on accomplishing?
For me, it's being able to run a mini triathlon, and maybe some day a full triathlon.
It's crazy for me, at least, the girl who hated PE and running with a passion, and now I'm working on being able to run 2.5 miles, in addition to swimming .25 and biking 10 miles.
What about everyone else?
Topic: RE: Post-Op
hey, aly. I can eat just about anything...except sugar or too much grease...so pizza is definitely out of the question. Had a thin crust pizza from APPLEBEE'S once...ugghhh! It made me sick for about an hour, but I don't crave the stuff. Grease really does gross me out now. I used to love KFC...last night the boyfriend took me there and I literally, had to close my eyes because I was starting to dry heave just LOOKING at the grease around the chicken. Ewww!!!
Believe me, I was very worried about how I would give that stuff I loved up, but I don't feel deprived, I don't miss any of it. i can eat small portions of just about anything...if I really wanted to. I just choose not to.
things I've tried:
popcorn, fried chicken, pizza, goldfish, chex mix, sushi, fried rice....I prefer fruit and vegetables now....
I know...weird...

Topic: RE: Anyone under 25?
I'M 23 yo, post-op 4.5 months, and I can tell you right now that I need lots of work. My breasts already starting to look like deflated, saggy balloons....ewwwWWw!!! And my arms have horrible stretch marks all the way around...come to think of it...so do my breasts!
I think there's several different factors on whether you'll need the plastics...age, genetics, how long you were overweight for, how fast you gained the weight, skin elasticity....and so on and so on...
But I'll take being skinny with extra skin, than fat with over-filled skin anyday!

wOW! What an amazing 20th....and 21st birthday gift you gave yourself! Your weight loss is amazing! Wow! Who would've ever thought that it would be possible to ever fit into a size 12 (giggle giggle) for me anyway! At 149 lbs standing at 5'9" you must be like in a size 3 or 5! Congratulations!!!
But as for the extra skin...I worry about that. I can already see that I need work in the arms and breasts...argh! Gross... I don't even want to look at it. Whatever. I'll take hanging skin over inflated, bloated me of then ANY DAY!
Topic: RE: how much weight have you lost?
Alright! So that's minus 29 pounds for you
-30 pounds for lisa
now -71 pounds for me!

Topic: RE: Plastic surgery?
I'm 20 and I will definitely be looking into plastic surgery once I get to about 180 lbs. My tummy right now is looking quite deflated, and I still have about 50 lbs til I get to 180. I'll probably want work done on my arms and legs, and definitely my boobs. Basically, I'm hoping for a full body...cause I'll really need it. I guess my skin doesn't have any elasticity. I work out 5 times a week, training for a triathlon, and there's still no way I'll be able to get out of this without at least a tummy tuck and breast reduction. I have to wear binders when I work out so that I can actually move without half of me folllowing a half-second later. haha.
