What I would do is talk to BMC and behavorist. Explain to them both the cir****tance. If also need to find out why the behavorist doesn't want to approve you yet. You need to state the importance of having the surgery in Aug. But remember to maintain a good composure, you don't want to make anyone mad who may have a say on when you have your surgery. I getting my surgery through medicaid. It was a really fast process only 2 weeks for approval affter I completed the pre ops.

I was just wondering if anyone has been able to get RNY or any weight loss surgery through medicaid anywhere or even better specifically in the state of florida? Any help would really mean lots to me

HI ALL, SORRY BUT I NEED TO VENT. WELL I JUST GOT HOME FROM SEEING MY BEHAVIORIST, LAST MONTH WHEN I SAW MY BMC (BARIATRIC MEDICAL CONSULTANT) HE TOLD ME THAT THE NEXT TIME I SEE HIM HELL PRESENT ME FOR SURGERY. AND NORMALLY 2-3 WEEKS AFTER THE PRESENTATION I WOULD GET A SURGERY DATE. WELL MY BEHAVIORIST TOLD ME THAT SHE WONT CLEAR ME UNTIL I SEE HER TWO MORE TIME. AND KEEP IN MIND ITS ONLY ONCE A MONTH. SO MY BMC TELLS ME I SHOULD HAVE SURGERY IN AUGUST. NOW ACCORDING TO MY BEHAVIORIST IM NOT GOIN TO HAVE IT UNTIL I GET CLEARANCE FROM HER WHICH IS LIKE 2-3 MONTHS LONGER. I HOPE THIS IS ALL MAKING SENSE TO YOU ALL. IM JUST SOOO MAD !!! MY BMC TELLS ME IM HAVING SURGERY AUG BUT COME TO FIND OUT I WONT UNTIL OCT OR NOV. WHATS GOIN ON HERE ??? IVE ALREADY SET MY LIFE TO HAVE SURGERY IN AUGUST, I BOUGHT ALL OF THE SUPPLEMEMTS WHICH IS COSTLY AND MAY EVEN EXPIRE ???? SECONDLY IVE ALREADY TOLD MY JOB AND THEY SIGNED THE DOCUMENTS ALREADY NEEDED TO TAKE SICK LEAVE NOW I HAVE TO REDO IT ???? GOSH !!! RIGHT NOW MY LIFE IS ON HOLD UNTIL I GET SURGERY AND NOW I FIND OUT ITS GOIN TO TAKE ANOTHER 2-3 MOS LONGER. IVE STARTED MY JOURNEY JUNE 21 2004 SO IVE BEEN WAITING AND PUTTING MY LIFE ON HOLD FOR SOOO LONG ALREADY. I HATE MY JOB AND STRESS DOIN MY JOB EVERYDAY BUT CANT LEAVE CUZ I NEED THE MEDICAL. SOOO IM LIKE SOOO MAD AND FUSTRATED LIKE I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. ??????????????????????? WELL I CAN GO ON AND ON AND ON IF I WANT. Hey, Aly! I'm about 7 months post op from lap RNY and at this point in time, I can eat anything I ate before surgery now. I obviously dump from foods high in sugar but other than that I can pretty much eat just about anything. Once my liquid week was up I was able to eat eggs, oatmeal, grits, lots and lots of cheese and crackers (that was my staple for the longest time) and things like that. It's all trial and error and it's going to be different for everyone as to what you're able to tolerate. Also, what may work one week may not work the next, even day by day! At 7 months out I can not eat yogurt...I haven't been able to since the third week after surgery. I dump SOOOOOO bad from it. But then there's my mom who is 6 months out of surgery and can eat it even at this point without a problem. So, if there's something you want to try, go ahead and try it! If you have any other questions about it, don't hesitate to call your nutritionist and ask them either, that's one reason they're there for! Good luck with it and let us know how it works out!! I haven't been on here very much lately but I wanted to add my weight loss! I had Lap RNY on Dec. 13th, 2004 and to date I've lost 86 pounds. I was 224 the day of surgery and I'm now down to 138 pounds!

i know this dosnt have much to with how ever much i weigh, well it does a little bit... but ive always wanted a motorcycle, like a ninja or somthing, and it just wouldnt have looked right had a big dude like myself was riding one, if i even was able to. so thats def one of my goals, lose weight to get a ninja, haha im sucha kid.
