Topic: Finally Surgery!!!!!!!!!

Hello Everyone, I am writing to tell you all that I finally have a surgery date. I will be going in on Monday, July 25. When I go in I will be interviewed by Dr. Jay Adlersburg from from the Eyewitness News Team. They will air my story that night. I am nervous as it is with my surgery, and now I am even more nervous about being on television, well if you live in NY I hope that you can catch me on the news. Well anyway it has been along journey and I ask that you guys please say a prayer for me. Thank you all for the support and wish me luck on Monday. Daniel Castro

i'm glad to know that they will cover Lap RNY...because thats the one i was hoping for...Well anyway my mother fianlly got in toch with the surgeons office(the one i wanted) and the intake person said they would be calling us back this week to scedual an intake appointment. so i'm very excited on taking the first steps. wish me all good luck

I just had my surgery, and I also have medicaid. I had lap RNY and it covered evrerything. I had also seen other doctors before about wls and I know that medicaid also covers lapband. You just need to find which surgery is best for you. Good luck on your journey.

Hi everyone! i just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Robin and im 16 years old from Bronx NY.I weigh in at around 330lbs with a height of 5'7. i've been thinking about WLS for a while now and am right now looking for a surgeon in my area who will perform on someone under 18. so far i've found a few (with help from this site!) and i am waiting for them to get back to me. my mother has left several messages on at least two doctors voicmail but we havent gotten any return phone calls yet. just wondering if any one else went through this. Also my insurance is Medicaid...and i am pretty sure these perticular doctors accept it which is good, but i was wondering if anyone knew which WLS's would be covered by medicad. i know they cover some type, but i was wondering if Laproscopic and Lapband was covered in that. i just want to get this moving along as soon as possible.
