Hey Lisa, Congrats on the upcoming surgery

I had the surgery done Sept. 8th of last year, I have lost 110 lbs so far. I should of lost more but I got sidetracked and kinda stopped doing the excerising part, I got discouraged and gave up and am finding my way back into the right patterns. The pain honestly was not bad, I never really hurt, I was just uncomfortable in the hospital bed, that's really the only reason I ever took the pain meds. No pain, just discomfort. As for doing it again..yes...i would...It was the easiest surgery I could think of. Good Luck

Renee~ Personally, I went with bypass, done lapro....however, I'm 30. If i was in my teens I would choose band, only because you have control. You can get it tightened, loosened, or removed. It's a big step and a pretty big decision to make. Good luck in your journey~ Liz

OK so I've been trying to find some sort of suport group in southern cal...like, pasadena, pomona, upland, la verne, clairmont or anywhere near there. I guess basically what i'm looking for are friends..people that want to go an hang out on weekends or after work an stuff like that. The only person I ever hang out with are my boyfriend and the friends i've met through him, but honestly i'm ready for my own friends...so I guess if anyone is interested email me or something...i'm ready to start a new life to go with this weightloss...i'm not desperate..just tired of only having my b/f's friends.

Did you know that there is a Phoenix Metro Weight Loss Surgery Support group that is for all pre-op and post-op patients no matter who your surgeon was or will be? All surgery types welcome - RNY, Lap-Band, DS, etc. Even if you don't have your surgery date yet and are just starting out in the process - you are welcome to join!! This is a peer-led ObesityHelp Chapter support group. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month at Cholla branch of Phoenix Public Library (outside Metrocenter Mall). Our next meeting is this Saturday! Face-to-face support is SOOOOO important for pre-ops, post-ops and even those at goal already. We all need support. Help yourself and help others. You can come alone or bring an adult support person with you. We have a great group. I hope you join us!!
