Topic: Teens with lap band?
Any other teenagers getting, or interested in getting a lap band. I'm on my way to get mine. I have to go to my doctor on Tuesday, and then make an appointment with Dr. Fiallo. Ughh! Anyone? BTW: I'm 16 going on 17 in 2 months!
Topic: RE: How long of a recovery period?
I missed two weeks of classes after my surgery. I could have gone after a week but wouldn't have been comfortable. I had an open RNY.

I agree. The southbeach breakfast bars are pretty good and are about 19 grams of protein.

Topic: RE: KIDCARE-MEDICAID
You could call Kidcare and see what they cover and what the requirements are. In the mean time document any and all diets she has tried. You may want to take her to the doctor to start a log of 6 month supervised diet because you will find a lot of insurance companies are making that a manditory requirement now. As of January 1st there have been a lot of changes and many coverages are dropping the riders that cover WLS.
Good luck,
Chrissy

Topic: RE: Breakfast
carbs will not help you lose weight. how about a banana? or carnation instant breakfast mixed in your milk. if you like to sleep or are running late all the time, it seems as though that is a change you are going to have to make. most people that eat breakfast lose the most weight. good luck
Topic: Breakfast
I'm a college student and am 5 weeks post-op. I'm trying to find something that i can possibly eat on the go for breakfast, and kinda of granola bar or something of that sort. That's the only meal i'm really having a problem making sure I'm getting due to the fact that I like to sleep in and I am either on time or running late.
Any suggestions would be great!!
Thanks
