Topic: RE: Hey Everyone
Alright im a little late but as far as I see it she should be ashamed of nothing tell her that despite the negative look at the positive she had people waiting on her hand and foot....but if that doesnt work try and make light of the situation its so unfortunate....many movie theaters where I live are small seats and I have problems with them (I too live near the city) but anyway dont make fun of it (obviously) but make jokes about it be like....you probably got the best show u probably got a cute usher to help u and u got to see the show from a different point then everyone....something to change her frown and attitude. Good luck and if she is really having a big problem with it tell her to read this to show her the care you have for her feelings and the care of 2 total strangers *****spect her and relate and tell her if 2 strangers can respect relate and understand her then her friends should as well.....she has a great sister if your looking to help her and have her make a page....I am trying to get my brother on here hes MO and my g/f whos a little overweight but has an overeating disorder (3 pcs of easter cake in 25 mins not good not good at all). Tell your sister not to feel bad and we all understand her........also she was in NYC (everything is smaller besides the buildings of course)

Topic: RE: SUPPORT NEEDED
Augh I am so so sorry. I know that has happened to every single one of us at one point or another. And serisouly, don't let others, especailly strangers, try to embaress you. No one is perfect, and I am sure that they all have their own problems. You have tons and tons of support in this community, and people who love you hear. If people aren't going to reespect you for who you really are, then they shuld be ignored. And seats can be extremly crammy. I remember getting a seatbelt extension on an airplane, and almost everyone straing. That was about a year ago. I look back at it now and I think, I'm never going to see any of those strangers again, so I don't give a dogs pooh what they think about me, or how they look at me. And if your friends are truly your friends, then they will be friendly enough to understand. Stay positive girl!

Topic: SUPPORT NEEDED
Hey, it's not for me, but it's still important. My little sister, who is MO and just turned old enough for our insurance company to consider her for surgery, had a rotten experience I'm sure we all can relate to and she needs some support. She traveled this past week to NYC with a vocal jazz group from her high school to perform in Carnigie Hall. The plane seats were tight but not too small and all was well in the theater seats when she went to see Beauty and the Beast, but then the group went to see Blue Man Group. The seats were tiny and she was absolutely unable to fit in them at all. After much fuss the and negative attention, an usher set up a folding chair for her way up in the balcony (totally apart from her friends). She cried throughout the entire show because she was humiliated in front of not only a bunch of total strangers but also in front of her friends. She's coming home tomorrow from NYC, still feeling rotten, and I just wanted to make sure she feels some love and support. If you have any encouragement for her please reply or e-mail me and I will print your replies off and present it to her when she gets home. I would really appreciate any support and encouragement you might have for her. Her name is Cathy and believe me she is an outstanding young lady, full of love, talent and life. Thanks in advance for all the support I know will come! Amy

Hi, im not forsure about your healthcare b/c i do not have it, but when i was trying to get approved for my surgery i was denied twice. Just dotn give up and if you denied try writing an appeal letter explain all the health problems for have from being over weight, talking to your doctors might also help you come up with this list, just make sure your not doign it jsut to get skinny but to make your health better and this ussaly will help you out and get your insurance to cover some of the cost of surgery.~Michelle

Is there anyone out there that knows if United Healthcare will cover RNY surgery for me? I'm 16 and will be 17 May 1st. I live in Jacksonville Florida. I have seen Dr. Overcash and he is going to do my surgery. I'm trying to get a heads up on the status of TEEN WLS w/ United Healthcare. THANKS!!!! Sean

I have PCOS too, which causes infertility...its a horrible thing. I don't know what to tell you about the smoking, but you should definitely try something soon! Your lungs might be very weak during surgery if you continue to smoke so close to your date. I am surprised that your surgeon is allowing you to have the surgery if you haven't made any very serious attempts at dieting. I would also suggest that if you had to have a psych. evaluation that you either go back to them, or some type of therapist that can help you if you really do think you have an addiction to food. Surgery is a very serious thing and you want to make sure that you can stick to a diet after you have it. I understand what you're saying about dieting for a period of time, but then gaining everything back...its like that for most of us. I hope I'm not being harsh. There are way too many people that have this surgery and think that its going to be some magical overnight transformation that requires no work whatsoever. -Not saying that you're like that but I just hope that anyone who wants this surgery knows that its only a tool. Good Luck, I hope everything works out for you!
